Lost 3.5st on SlimmingWorld for my wedding x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I didn’t have to but wanted to, to feel good about myself on the day. In all I lost 11.5lbs and it helped me feel amazing. I went dress shopping after I’d lost about half the weight and luckily even with loosing more I didn’t need it altered. Good luck on your wedding journey xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!!! I have till end of August I’m hoping I will do it 😂 if not I’ll have to improvise my dress some how 🤷‍♀️ lol xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a feel of what you like, what shapes you feel confident in etc, but with a weight loss that significant, dresses will look slightly different once you go to try them back on.

I wanted to lose 5 stone. Tried some dresses on at the start to get an idea of styles I then said I wasn't looking again til I had 2 stone off. That was in October I'm 5lb away from a 2 stone loss so hoping to go looking again in Feb xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I did but the 2 weeks before some of it piled back on again. I think I was so busy I was just grabbing whatever. Lost just over a stone and put back on 5 in those 2 weeks which did make my dress feel a little snugx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I knew I didnt have to but I did it for me, I lost around 2 stone. I bought my dress and then left it as late as I could for my measurements to be taken. I still ended up having around 4 inches taken off my dress in the end!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I’m on a weight loss mission too. Last year before our engagement holiday I found yoga really helpful. It’s actually a brilliant work out and makes you stop comfort eating as much xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I simply say... F"CK ALTERING YOUR BODY FOR A DRESS!!! Get a dress you can rock in your own body and love yourself 💗❤🙊

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I tried a dress on and bought it and then saw the pic and didn’t like it on April 1st, went to slimming world and lost nearly 3 stone by 1st September and got the dress altered in time for October wedding xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My mum is at Slimmimg world, shes lost 2 stone in 2 months even over Christmas! She was a size 20 but heading towards being a 12-14 by time I get married. She loves it xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Did weight watchers for before my wedding and just (JUST) fit into my dress. I went shopping and just was realistic about the size I would be towards the end. I didn't have a choice though really as I bought off the rack and I didn't really want it altered. But to really lose all the weight I joined slimming world. Got 2 and a half stone off in just under a year

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I also wanted to lose around 3 stone. I tried dresses on before losing any weight so I could get an idea of what style suited by body and how much I’d need to lose. I fell in love with a dress and bought it there and then. Even with my extra weight I feel amazing in it. Little bit of loss and some toning needed but nowhere near as much as I thought I would need to do. The right dress can do wonders to your figure. Good luck! X

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Definitely need 2 had a baby 10 weeks ago so wud like 2 lose 2 and half stone . Hav only 8 months 2 do it

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I changed my diet and started exercising more.... Mainly hiit. Lost 2 and a half stone before my wedding

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I had a 9lb tumour (luckily benign) on my stomach simply had a dress that suited my figure, I had no choice, I’ve since had surgery and will admit I’d love to do it all again and have a different style dress but at the end of the day your future hubby loves you as you are and if he wants you to lose weight just to wear a dress for a few hours is he really the one for you?

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I did herbalife for a year before my wedding lost about 3 stone. Was happy with where I was when I got married. I loved dress shopping and I was a size 20ish when I looked.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Lost 2 stone at slimming world for my wedding in October. I felt great that day and have only put 4lb on since October. Slimming World is definitely the way to go x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Lost 2.5 stone in a matter of months (amazing how the fear of being in the spotlight can motivate you). I chose a dress that I loved and flattered my figure even at my heaviest therefore if I didn’t lose the weight I’d still be (reasonably) happy in it. I also orders it in my actual size and then had it adjusted 2 weeks before the wedding.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Crash dieting is no good for anyone ,most people lose it for wedding then pile it back on and some , If your husband to be asked you to marry him as you are then you should be comfortable I choosing a dress I the size you are and if you lose some weight it can be taken in 😊
Love yourself for how you are not what you think others want to see x
Ps Congratulations on your wedding 👰

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I fell in love with a size 12 dress and was a size 18. I bought the dress and got down to a 14 so had the back panel extended. I used the hairy bikers diet cookery book. Delicious x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Please remember that your wedding day is about you as you are and you do not need to lose weight to be a beautiful bride.

Wedding planning is stressful at the best of times and adding losing weight to the list isn’t always beneficial.

Your other half loves you no matter how you look or what you weigh.

However if you do want to lose weight I do recommend slimming world as a sensible way cx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I'm doing slimming world and have lost 4 stone since may I love how much you can eat without thinking your on a diet x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

No I put it on

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I started slimming world 6 months ago and have lost 2 stone I'm hoping to lose another half by end of jan and get my dress then maybe another stone or stone and a half by the wedding in june xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I get married in September I want to loose about 3 stone . I'm going back to slimming world thus week but I am going dress shopping on the 18th I am a little worried but hopefully it will be ok x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I see a lot of slimming world recommendations, but nothing about exercise.
Exercise as well as diet will help shift weight quicker, and keep your body more toned whilst losing a large amount of weight.
Start with small, simple workouts and gradually increase them 👍🏻 and good luck!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I “needed” to lose about 3/4 stone for the wedding.
Didn’t, and still felt fabulous in the end. If you’ve got a focus then col, but don’t put undue pressure on yourself.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Cut out all sugar/carbs, ate more fat, meat & Veggies, lost 3 stone :)

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I wasbt worried about losing weight for my wedding I'm pretty happy but I put my dress on 1 month before and couldn't do it up it was a long way off! So I cut out snacks and had healthier choices for meal times, my dress fit beautifully on the day and I felt amazing so it was worth it

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I lost 6 and a half stone in 6 months doing the Cambridge diet. It was brutal but totally worth it x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I've lost 2 stone on slimming world and my fiance has lost 4 stone, we have been doing it 4 months and regularly eat pizza, burgers, kebabs still, it's just about preparing your food right. Can't reccomend it enough. We've just started a wedding weight loss Instagram, @weighing4wedding

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I actually put on weight LOL thank god for the corset back

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I lost 3 stone 5 years ago, before I got married. I think if being the version of you you want to be on your wedding day is the motivation to change your lifestyle, get fit and eat better. Then go for it and make the changes for good. Will mean a longer, healthier marriage. Good luck, 50% of its self motivation and organisation to start! Xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I'm going with "he fell in love with me like this he'll marry me like this" good luck to everyone dieting, I like food too much lol x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I brought my dress at the size I was I was determined not to gain anymore weight. My dress is able to be taken in and altered if I lost weight but not taken out.
As it is I have lost weight and am still losing weight but my dress still fits but with bit more space now.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Try the keto diet. My dress is slightly too tight so don't wanna lose loads. But my cousin lost 3 stone very quick on the keto diet. X

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I bought my dress at the size I was and it kicked me up the bum to lose 2 stone!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I have been trying to loose weight quite unsuccesfully but my dress is being made for me and my dress maker said she can adjust it at any point.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I lost about 2 inches from doing keto and felt amazing on it. Longest I’ve ever kept at any diet because it’s a liveable lifestyle not a short term diet. Best of luck to you and have a wonderful day!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I have a lot of weight to lose (this was day one of wedding diet) and for me personally I would rather lose the weight first so I haven’t got additional pressure when I find the dress and I don’t want to be deflated when I’m not happy with my body to start with 😊 xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I have about a stone to lose before October to get my dress zipped up otherwise it'll be getting a corset fitted! Shame I can't stick a picture of the dress on the cupboards to remind me not to raid the biscuits!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

So I would love to lose a little but I’m also a believer in it’s how you feel in your own body. He loves me as I am so I’m only doing it for me 💕

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I've lost a stone and half with slimming world! Now just need to maintain until May which the group really helps to do. Would really recommend, very supportive group and a plan that works without being so limiting you get sick of the food! As for dresses I went before (they can take a while to be ordered so allow time for that!) It helped me to be motivated and now having the dress taken in but it might depend on how much you lose! if you find a nice dress shop I'm sure they would be able to advice you :) good luck and congratulations xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

If I'm honest havent even thought about losing weight!! Getting married aug 2021!!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I decided I wanted to lose weight before we get married in may, back in September 2018. I started it then so that I wasn't putting myself under immense pressure nearer the time, I'm now 3.5 stone lighter, and want another stone off by may. I did it just by eating better and exercising, and cooking more meals from scratch.
I went dress shopping this time last year, found one I loved, that made me look so slim because of the style, I knew then, that even if I didn't lose the weight I wanted to I would still look amazing in my dress, although as I have lost weight, they can take it in 2 dress sizes. Got my first official fitting in February! Can't wait to see it on again!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I get married in September and am currently doing slimming world which is helping and am hoping to be looking at dresses over the next month. I'm the worst for shopping but fingers crossed I will feel better about myself. Iv recently gone down a size in jeans and felt great with that. Good luck on your journey x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I lost 4stone 2lbs and I felt fantastic on my wedding day in Oct x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I'm getting marring in October my h2b thinks I'm beautiful but I'm doing it for me so I can feel happier and comfortable. Im planning on changing my diet cutting out fizzy drinks and cutting down on sweets, eating smaller portions (I know I over eat) making more of my meals so there are less processed meats in my food chicken nuggets etc with more vegetables and I'm hoping to join the gym with h2b next month 😁

Also I'm not going dress shopping till late August so I figure I'll have a good idea of what size I'll be for the wedding

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I would say find the perfect dress then lose the weight, it will give you the incentive to keep going when things get tough pr the weightloss slows down. I bought my perfect dress and I'm going to blooming well fit into it if it kills me. 2 stone down so far, 4 to go.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I need to lose about 2 stone for my dress to zip up I fell in love and it was the only size they had so I just got it 🤣 I lost 6 stone in 8 months before I had my daughter. I just kept track of my calorie intake on my fitness pal and went to the gym. As long as you are motivated then it will come off

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I needed to loose 3st before my wedding and started in May 2019. I’d lost about 2 stone and went to look at dresses. Tried on a few and came home with ‘ the one’ xxx I’ve put on weight over Christmas so still got about 20lbs to go by June. My dress fits but just need to tone up my tummy a little more xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I did weight waters and exercise classes 3x a week and shifted 3 1/2 stone whilst not being miserable and still having the odd treat xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I was really worried about trying dresses on and lost about a stone before I tried any. But, when I tried them on I felt amazing! I would be happy to lose a bit more but I'm also confident now that I will feel great still at this size (size 16). I would definitely go and try some on, even if just by yourself and get a feel for style 🥰

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Slimming world!! I’m down 20lb (Nearly a stone and a half) in 5 weeks over Xmas! I’m not getting married till 2021 but I’m desperate to go dress shopping and I won’t try one on till Iv lost another two stone at least...I won’t buy one till much closer the time of course but I want to try one on and twirl a bit...😂

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

Yeah lost a stone needed more but I went to see the curvy brides such wonderful ladies and didn’t make me feel huge either then ended up on tv on first series xx

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

Hi, I went and tried dressing on to see what style I wanted, and where I needed to loose the weight from, where I needed to tone up more! And the problem areas (tummy and arms)

I felt like shit when I tried my dress on and it certainly help my motivation! 🙂 but I found the dress and still working hard to feel comfortable in it! 🙂 xx

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

I lost 2 stone. No miracle diet, just plain old eating healthily and exercising more.

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

I am getting married in May 2021. I rejoined slimming world last week as I know the plan works. I need to lose 6 stone!!! I am looking at dresses online but not actually trying anything on until I have lost alot of my weight. Good luck 😁

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

I didnt need to lose weight but i decided to anyway just to feel more comfortable in the dress. I lost about 1/2 stone but i ended up losing a bit too much between my last fitting and the wedding. If you find your right dress then just make sure you don't change too much after, if you get it tailored 😊

UKbride Member 7 Jan 2020

Firstly your fiancé fell in love with you as you are ....
you might WANT to lose weight but you don't NEED to lose weight for your wedding , so please don't put un-necessary pressure on yourself
