Personal choice. Do what you want. Xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

No. Nor do the mother of groom/bride or father of bride unless actually in wedding party

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad will be wearing the same as the groom and the groomsmen xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Yes it is tradition

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

sure does :)

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad wore the same suit but it is entirely your decision. It's your day :)

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

If he wants to. But he could easily choose to wear a suit that fits the general tone and colour scheme

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

I had my step dad son best man and groom in all the same suits but entirely up to you its ur day

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

He doesn’t have too, my dad didn’t x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad will be but that was our choice.

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad was going to but in the end chose to wear highland dress. Whatever he and you want xx

All the men are wearing the same suit at our wedding in May

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad, father in law, husband, best man & usher all wore the same suits

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Yup - well my dad is anyway. My H2B also wants my grandad, his Dad and Grandad to wear the same suits too x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad wore a completely different suit of the groom and ushers. The groom also wore a different suit to the ushers. They were all different

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad did but I think it's just personal preference

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Have all the same suits but perhaps different colour waistcoats for the groom and your dad (also slightly different to distinguish between the two special men in your life) ☺️

We are having this problem - we obviously want the whole wedding party matching but my H2B wants to stand out, I want my dad to stand out, then you've got best man, groomsmen and we want my brother and H2Bs dad matching too 😫😂 think I've created a bigger problem for myself trying to find 5 bloody variations x

My dad wore the same tartan bit had a different jacket to the rest of the groom's party. I think it is down to personal choice 😊

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

The only ppl wearing same suit at our wedding is the groom and my 3 sons xxx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

All 10 men wore the same suits but my husband, best man and two dads wore waistcoats to stand out. I don’t think it matters all down to personal preference x

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

We had all the same suits but my husband wore a different waistcoat and button hole ( apart from our eldest who wore his army 'best ' and got more attention than me !!! )

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My brother is in my dads place and yes be will be having that same suit as the groomsmen. I think the general way it is done for suits is groom, best man, both dads and ushers if you have them.

My OH is Scottish, he’s wearing a kilt, so are the best men, groomsman and my dad (they’re aren’t Scottish but it’s nice they’re all the same and happy to wear kilts) xxx groom is wearing a different tie waistcoat I think xx

We're planning that all the guys in the wedding part wear the same and my partners will be a little different. They're going to be in Tuxedos as it's a james bond theme so my partner jackets is going to be ever so slightly different.

My heb is wearing a different suit than the bestman as can't get the sizes for both of them and my hub really liked the suit his choose. My mom is giving me away so she won't match anyway x but it's your wedding you have what you both want. We are doing it our way if people don't like it then they don't but we will that what matters

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My husband dad and best man all wore exactly the same

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

No he gets his own!

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

Normally wear the same😆

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

No my dad wanted to get a suit made for our wedding which we were fine with
We're having the groomsmen (Inc best man) in the same suits, dad's in different suits and groom in a different suit too

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My husband wore a different suit to everyone else and the groomsman wore the same and the best man wore a different colour waist coat to the others

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My husband wore the same kilt outfit as my son who gave me away. The Best Man and his Dad. He didn’t want to be different. Xx

UKbride Member 6 Jan 2020

My dad just got his own suit in the same colour. Our ushers didn’t even wear the same suit as the groom as my husband is really tall and had to get his made. We did hire the ushers suits from the same shop he had his made at though. They all wore navy suits with a navy waistcoat and matching ties except for my dad as he wore one of my Grandpa’s ties because he’s no longer with us. It was the same colour though.

My uncle gave me away, he lives 180 miles away, so it was difficult to match the suits perfectly, but my now husband sent him a picture of the suit he hired and my uncle got a similar one, however we did hire the cravat and pocket hanky from our suit hire shop so my husband, uncle, and best man all mached xx
