Invitations

How far in advance do you send out your save the dates/ invitations? I'm having a small intimate wedding in Devon and have family from the all over the UK so they'll need to book accommodation etc

Save the dates a year in advance and the main invite send a good 7/8 months in advance (6 months at the max no later as many may not get time off then)

It all depends when your wedding is, if it’s likely to be school holiday time then save the date a year and half before maybe slightly earlier so people don’t book holidays, then invited 8 months or so just to remind them

As soon as it's all booked send an invite x

We're getting married August 2021 and sent them August just gone because of the school holidays. We'll send the invites out this August (2020)

I've sent all mine out 17 month before because we get married on easter Sunday, wanted to ensure everyone we wanted there has a chance to decide whether they want to be at our wedding or go away xx

We sent ours as soon as venue and registrar was booked which was about 18 months in advance.

We sent save the dates about a year & a half before, invitations were 5 months (waited til after xmas to send both for our june wedding) it's entirely up to you, as long as u find out when your venue needs your final guest numbers 😊 Ours was about 6 weeks before.

18-12 months before the date

I’ll be sending mine out in feb which is 14 months in advance as I have family coming from abroad. But I guess it’s entirely up to you x

I’m getting married in April 2020 and we sent out save the dates in Feb and just sent out actual invites (5 months) 😊

UKbride Member 14 Nov 2019

I’m getting married end of July and have just started sending them out xx

UKbride Member 14 Nov 2019

We sent our save the dates about 9 months before the wedding (I think) and invites about 6-7 months before

Wow you guys are organised! I get married in May 2020 and have only just received my save the dates. I may as well send the save the dates magnets with formal invites and Christmas cards all in one postage. May as well chuck in the birthday cards of those between now and then too 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

I sent my save the dates really early, maybe 16 months before and my invitations early too! It didn’t matter though because people still didn’t remember the date and couldn’t come etc despite the amount of notice. X

I’ve saved some money by just inviting them on Facebook (invitation to follow) anyone not on Facebook I told them face to face x

I’m having a wedding in the Malvern hills in Herefordshire. I live in London..I have family in Birmingham, Yorkshire, Spain, and Canada. Iv sent out my save the date cards two years in advance with the venue address on so that everyone is well aware they need to book accommodation.

I would day latest 12 months before for STD and 6 months for invites
