Follow it:
Something Old: A necklace my father gave me just before he died.
Something New: My dress - made especially for me (bespoke).
Something Borrowed: A pink hand fan from my mum as it was the hottest day of the year.
Something Blue: A bracelet my 'boyfriend' bought me the day before he proposed. I never wore it until my wedding day as my something blue.

Lynne Stewart

I like the idea of a sixpence but do you need it in your shoe? Can you attach it to your dress?

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 6 Nov 2019

I did. My old was a brass pig that my step father always carried with him. It stayed in my pocket all day. New was my flowers. Blue was my grans brooch which was fastened to my flowers and my borrowed was a bracelet from my mother in law.
It was good fun picking all the items. I was so worried I'd forget them though I ended out keeping everything in my shoe box because I was pretty sure I wouldn't forget them. Not that I wore them for long 🤣

UKbride Administrator 6 Nov 2019

I’m following it:

Old: wearing a ring on my right hand that my parents bought me when I was a baby

New: the dress, the veil, the shoes, etc.

Borrowed: wearing my MIL’s earrings

Blue: small hair clip is being almost hidden in my updo

Why: the ring is nice because it’s literally one of the oldest things that is mine; the earrings worked great with my outfit and it’s nice to have something from my MIL in my outfit since we’re very close; new is just stuff I needed to get anyways; the clip I found in a shop one day when I was thinking about my then-boyfriend and realizing I wanted to be with him forever
