Hi! So after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing on what to do for our wedding (plan A,B and T!) we have decided and have booked an intimate wedding in the Lake District in 2021. We have a total of 38 guests all day (bride and groom included) and we are at a venue that provides a set menu and drinks which must be adhered to. Could anybody provide any ideas (outside of decor) on how to make the wedding feel unique? It feels as though the standard, band, photobooth etc would be overboard for such a small wedding what do you think? Ideas appreciated!
You could always have photo props without the booth. You can buy them off Amazon. If there is an outside space then maybe lawn games.
What about games
Maybe just a string quartet to play in the background or garden games ?
A harpist sounds perfect to me 😬
I had 36 at mine and had a band it was amazing so glad we decided to have them as we had similar worries, but it depends on your group we had a lot up dancing. Either way you will have an amazing day I thought we had the perfect amount
What time of year? We got married on 22.12 last year and had 48 guests and we had Father Christmas come to give gifts to our child guests, Carol singers as welcome music and a bagpiper as we went back down the aisle together and whilst we had photos. Also did a hot chocolate bar All of that is pretty useless for you unless it’s a winter wedding though! 🤣
With only a few guests you could personalise the favours maybe with photographs or something special to each person
Why don’t you still have a small band? My friends had a really chilled 2 piece with acoustic guitars! Or there’s a guy called “paintmywedding” on Instagram who seems cool
Where are you getting married? The venue normally have some recommended suppliers they can suggest for you which includes venue dressers and entertainment, north Lakes I can highly recommend Classic Ensembles for music and Oak and Ash for outdoor wooden games for a couple of ideas :)
If you have the time, do flat name cards to tuck in serviettes and on the back a memory of how you met ir know that person, saying how glad you are they are part of your special day.
A memory wall or frame with pictures of loved ones passed that you'd like to have at the wedding
Slideshow a load of photos of you guys through your journey together and have the DJ or venue show them on a screen if they have one
Have a mr and mrs type game where guests have to guess which one of you likes/dislikes something, said it did something etc. With their name written on the back for you to read back on later
Leave a message for the bride and groom jar, or a fingerprint tree made up of all of your guests fingers
Wedding guest Top Trumps, still get a photo booth! Write each guest/couple/family a card to open and read on the morning or while they're waiting in the ceremony room. Each one special to them. It's the little touches that matter on the wedding day and some of the best ones are too hard to do with loads of people, so a smaller wedding let's you make those awesome ideas possible! X
How about a singer instead of a band.
Fireworks, bubbles and a live band!
We got married at Broadoaks in Troutbeck last week! We had 47 guests and had exclusive use for two nights! The night before I hired Magic Matt who was majorly entertaining for all ages! On the day we hired a singing waiter which was fab! Best wedding ever according to our guests! xx
We had a two piece band doing really upbeat Irish style guitar/fiddle with the welcome drinks and it really got everyone in a party mood as the reception got going! It was perfect for our 50 guests. If it’s a May wedding you could see if any local folk dance groups could do a little Maypole dance and maybe even teach some of the guests?!
We have booked a pianist for our wedding which is very intimate his name is nick wiley. Check him out x
I’m having 50 guests and a magician and fireworks as well as a band.
