I’m a curvy size 10/12 with a bit of a tummy since having my second baby that doesn’t seem to want to shift. I have quite curvy hips too so I’m not looking for a figure hugging dress but one that compliments this shape but all the ones I see are figure hugging! Can I see dresses for inspiration of you lovely brides that have a similar shape to me? When I look online they all seem to be petite skinny girls so id love to see some curvier brides who have a tummy ????

This was me 20 days post emergency c-section with my daughter when I was looking for a dress when I was with my ex. A-line style I found perfect I’m a size 18 there but it hid my stomach and hips perfectly

This is me in my dress, I know you said not figure hugging, but I am a size 12 in this photo, I've always had quite big hips and a tummy, this style suited my figure best, it all depends how it's fitted and material too.

I've had three children and have a belly on me from it.I'm bigger than you but this was my dress. That was without a control slip worn underneath my dress but they do do some really good ones if you feel conscious about your tummy :)

I'm the same size and have big hips too. Very hour glass. I've gone for a ball gown. Definitely don't look at how they fit models on line. Go in to shops and try loads on. I tried a figure hugging mairmade dress on and while it wasn't the dress for me it made my figure look amazing and really held in my stomach. I'll find a pic..

A line dresses with pleating round the waist might be good at hiding tummies.

Invest in some good shapewear to hide bumps and lumps, that's what I'm doing. They make brilliant and comfortable stuff nowadays and you don't need to wear a stiff corset and take it all of to go to the loo

I'm between a size 10/12 and was very self conscious of my stomach so I went for a chiffon floaty aline style. But at the end of the day, it's worth trying a few different styles on, even if you don't think they'll suit you

I'm a very curvy 10 top and 14 bottom and I absolutely loved my dress! I wore some spanks and my dress pulled me in. The detail and beading totally deflected from the tummy. I was so worried about my figure in a dress and tried so many. You'd be surprised with a fit and flare/fishtale 👌

I'm a funny size 22ish (I go between 20-24 depending on shop) and I tried on this size 22 corset back ballgown with a lace jacket and the lady had me cinched in (tucked perfectly in but I could still breathe) I'm very conscious of my arms, hips and belly being a bigger girl but when I looked in mirror, I didn't see any of that! Definitely worth going in and trying different shapes to see what suits your body xx

Exactly the same problem I'm having.
I went to try on fishtail dresses and was told by my sister i looked wide
So it's a line fitting with sweetheart neck as I've got the boobs too. Get some spanks and make sure you're comfortable. I found the Aline hides all the bits we wanna hide like the mum tum

If it's structured, it will pull your tummy in, that was something that bothered me too! The dress I ended up choosing (below) was nothing like what I had in my mind when I started looking. Keep an open mind. Try all sorts of styles on and go with what you're comfortable with.

I'm a 12/14 curvy and I fell in love with an aline princess style gown from wed2be I tried it on and honestly I fell in love even more I always said I wouldn't wear a strapless dress but that's exactly what I had I went with how I felt I knew it would be my dress so bought it then and there it was only the 2nd dress I tried on but I just knew. Wear what ever dress or outfit you want and feel comfy in try going to a bridal shop and trying a few different styles and when you see THE dress you will know good luck with finding your dress and have fun enjoy it x

Corset backs are great because you can pull it in and create a lovely silhouette. I'm a size 12-14 and only 5ft. Try loads of styles on and don't go with a fixed idea of what you want as you may be surprised as to what suits you and what doesn't.

I know you said not figure hugging, but I’m around a 10 on top and 12/14 on the bottom and have always been conscious of my bigger hips and bum. I wanted a princess or a-line style dress but when I tried them I felt I was just trying to hide myself in them. I was talked into trying fitted dresses and tried on my dress and loved how I felt in it. It was really structured material with a corset back so I felt it complimented my shape. Have an open mind and try on different styles in different materials, you might be surprised!

Look at dropped waist or a line dresses. They give shape at the top but flow nicely at the usual offending areas! I am a much larger 18/20. In store I was a depressing 26 because dresses seem to be sized differently. My dress come from TBDress (chinese app/website) in the end and as long as you look at their guides/measurements their quality and sizing was amazing. Cant wait to wear mine in a couple of weeks!!! I’m a size 12/14 and was really conscious about my size on the day but the style of my dress made me feel so comfortable as it came in above the hips and then went out, every lump and bump was well covered! I think being a slightly off colour helped too! But like everyone else has said trying some on would be your best bet as you’ll find what’s best for you good luck!

I can’t post a picture of my dress as I’ve not had my wedding yet! I spent ages trawling the internet for ideas, watching ‘say yes to the dress’ and came up with loads of styles I thought would suit me!! I am larger than you (16-18) and the best advice I can give is by all means look find parts of dresses you like to get ideas but most women won’t settle on the dress they loved in picture. You need to be lead by the bridal consultants as they know their job and know what styles suit. My dress is nothing like the images I’d looked at! If you do want to look try looking at designers that do curvier ranges such as Sophia Tolli, Stella York, Essence of Australia. Oh final tip, corset back all the way!! Amazing for cinching the waist plus can be let out after you’ve eaten! Good luck

Some girls would murder for your figure! Structured gowns may have a corsetry system built in so may have no need for any shapewear, but as others have said get advice from a salon - most can tell you in a second what style will suit your pear, apple... whatever shape, so you can work from there on the other elements so don't worry x

Another vote for an A-line style! It compliments curves so well. I would advise trying on lots of styles and not ruling anything out. It’s all about feel!
