Save the dates for full day or evening only 12 months in advance, then all normal invites for day and evening sent 6/8 months before hand as you need final numbers at least 6 weeks before the big day

We sent out save the dates about a year before as we got married on the 1st weekend of August. Then sent out invites at Easter. Xx
Save the dates were done about a year before as we had family from Canada/US/New Zealand coming so we wanted to give them plenty of time to book flights/hotels.
The actual invitations were sent out 4 months before with RSVPs to be back no later than 6 weeks before the date.

We sent invitations about 5 months before the big day. We only had 6 months planning time anyway but had it been longer I possibly would have sent them earlier than 5 months before!
Six weeks! We decided to get married before we moved to Portugal. It was all very sudden. We visited friends over in Portugal in August, looked at a few houses and put an offer in. We were married in November and moved to Portugal last year, in mid January.
We sent ours in January, wedding was in June. Asked for people to RSVP by April. We had to chase a few people up but most got back to us in plenty of time 😊✉ We had already sent save the dates out last year 💍
A year before for save the dates. 4-6 months before for actual invites.

6 weeks is the norm here in Northern Ireland, we did 9ish weeks (8 prob by the time we got them all handed out for the local ones), just 'cause it was a Friday and wanted to give a couple weeks of a headsup for people booking off work. Though they all knew the date before their invite arrived anyways
Update: whaaattttt!? Where is everyone from that you send save the dates a year ahead and invites 6months ahead!?? We only decided our final guest list a couple of weeks before the invites went out
