Has anyone got any suggestions for going to the loo in a big princess dress? I'm wondering if the IKEA bag hack will work.
I straddled the loo rather than sat and had two friends hold my dress up for me. It’s not the most graceful way and you can’t have a shy bladder though x
This was my dress and I managed it with just bringing the train and veil forward around me and getting someone to hold it. Oh and using the disabled cubicle

These are mean to be quite good, and also comical
I hitched mine up and hoped for the best!
I am worrying about this as well. I have asked some of my married friends for advice and they said this is what your bridesmaids are for, they can hold your dress for you when you need to pee. But my concern was more about what if you need a poo? I don’t think I’m that close to my bridesmaids to be honest. And while we’re at it what are people doing if they’re on their period as well? I’m a bit worried about that.
sat on the loo facing the wrong way was how I did it
Lift and walk on forwards.
just sit the wrong way on the toilet ! That way your train/veil is behind you and not bunched up !
You can get bride buddies on ebay!!
I lifted and walked forward
Go to the toilet back to front, apparently it's easier?
Back to front
This was my dress (monarch length train and 8 layers!) so I didn't even bother with a bag or bridal buddy as no way was it fitting. One of my bridesmaids helped me and I went on the loo front ways, much easier
it's not actually that hard haha
I sat facing the wrong way and it worked a treat, didnt need anybody there to help me that way. Just check everything is out of the way before you 'let if flow'haha
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to go in a fit and flare/mermaid style dress?? Since they're tight round the bum 😂 giving me anxiety for my wedding in July!
Go in the disabled toilets so you have more room...take a friend with you to hold the dress and sit on the toilet back to front 😊
It’s honestly not as hard as you think! My maid of honour helped me lift my dress up & went forward and sometimes just as normal. Really not hard 🙂
My friend had a big dress and I helped her scoop it up and she sat on the loo backwards :) worked well for her
I had mine tucked into my underskirt/hoop. Worked a treat xxx
I did it last year and all you have to do is go frontwards on to the toilet and hold up front of dress, really easy 😏
Take ya bridesmaids with you haha 😂
Sit on the toilet backwards. So you are facing the wall and let your dress hang down behind you.
I had a princess dress and use the disabled toilet alone with no issues at all.
Bridal store owner told me to sit on the toilet backwards to how you normally would. So, straddle it facing the cistern. It's less fabric to hold and your train isn't at the back of the toilet either. She also said to use the accessible toilet as there's more room
Ikea bag, tried and tested!! A definite must for any wedding dress!
I did t use anything just my hands. First time I needed a wee took someone with me the rest of the time I went myself. All I did was sit facing the cistern was so much easier xx
eBay Bridal buddy for about £8 which is a nicer version of the IKEA bag that you can wear all day!
Just take one of you bridesmaids to help.
Sit on the toilet backwards! Works fab!
Sit backwards on the toilet and have a bridesmaid on hand to help. It was so much easier than I thought it would be! :)
Sit on the loo backwards. Works perfectly x
Bride buddy! You wear it under your dress and when you've gotta go it scoops it all up leaving you free to pee!
....IKEA bag? not seen this before?!
Sit on it backwards so face the back basically x and you get a thing you can wear to help you bumfle up your dress so its easy to go to x or get moh to help lol x
As a teacher I managed to make it until about 18:30 then me, best friend and sister went upstairs, I stripped off fully, went to the loo and redressed xx
Sit on the loo backwards. Works a treat. I practised at home first lol (without the dress) and its surprisingly comfortable lol
I did it two ways
First was grab the under skirt and get a friend to hold it all up on one side so you can sit
Second time, we had a bathroom at our venue that was bigger than most people ground floor so I literally unzipped my dress, stepped out of it, cooled down, had a wee and then put my dress back on lol
Sit backwards on the loo, that's easier. And as long as your not shy, it helps to have a friend come too xx
Sit on the loo facing the wall x
Tagging you in this Kealey Susana Pritchard because it might get useful X
Yep.... hike up at the front and walk forwards! Taking a friend helps!
Pull the front up and walk onto the toilet facing the wall....worked for me xxx
There is a underskirt you can buy that you have a drawstring on
If you have a hoop tuck it in to it x

I had absolutely no problems with going by myself and I had a large dress. Just made sure it was all out of the way x
I managed fine I had a huge dress first couple of times I had help then after that just life’s it up from the back and went on myself lol xx
I just lifted the front and slid on facing the cistern easy
I lifted my dress & sat on it backwards
I faced the back of the toilet and straddled the seat and had one of my bridesmaids hold the back of the dress haha. Worked a treat tbf
It’s not that hard to go just bunch it up n lift it
Just don't do it!!!! 🤪

hi i own the wedding dress barn kingsclere, does your dress have a hoop? if so just scoop all the material inside the hoop, no need for any gadgets xx
Go to the loo back to front facing the cistern
Iv been thinking about this haha.
