Real. Silk flowers can't breakdown as easy and real flowers smell amazing. They also look a lot better too. It's a personal preference at the end of the day.

I had silk because I have allergies to pollen... last thing I wanted was streaming red eyes and sneezing through my vows. Additionally, I've been able to have my beautiful flowers as a keepsake.

It depends on your budget. I'm going for silk as I simply can't justify the price I've been quoted for for real flowers. I also would like my bridesmaids to keep their bouquets. Also my theme is starry night and I don't associate flowers with starry night so I am not really bothered about the flowers being a big thing on the day xx

I had silk and no one could believe they weren't real and had them bespoke made from a real bouquet I loved from The Floral Touch UK. I love that I can still look at them now and the cost was fantastic

I've gone for silk! Want to keep them forever. Also with silk you won't have bees and wasps etc chasing you down the isle, allergies and you can usually get the flowers you want any time of the year and don't pay more for out of season flowers.

Personally I'm going for real because I love the smell and feel of real flowers, but do what suits your budget

Decent silk flowers are often more expensive than real. And theres no beating the way a real petal flutters xx

I went for fake flowers so I could keep my bouquet 😊 a lot cheaper too, plus is was fun (if a little stressy) making them!

I went for silk and foam as i am anaphylactic to bees and wasps so didn't want to chance getting stung. Also i wanted to frame my bouquet after.
I am putting herbs in my flowers for a scent and got real flowers at my tables in my centre peices.

We're having fake flowers. They're cheaper and any one with hay-fever won't be suffering 😂😂

I’m going silk, I love the wildflower look and delicate flowers can start to wilt after a long day, plus we can keep the silk ones as mementos and the ability to get them before the wedding instead of that morning means less stress 🙂 have a look at Silk Flower Art on google, they have some really real looking ones

Real every time. Silk flowers have improved greatly but nothing beats the real thing! :-)

We hired silk flowers so I could have the flowers I wanted in October. Plus they set up and cleared up the next day so less for us to do haha

I’m having artificial (silk) flowers. I’m having 5 bouquets which im making myself with the MIL help and each one has been dedicated to be put on a loved ones grave once the wedding is finished. Each of my bridesmaids and flowers girls have chosen who gravestone there’s will be placed on and I’ve chosen my own too. I’ve also had 3 smaller bouquets made which are dedicated to people who unfortunately aren’t here with us to share our special day. There ashes have been scattered so there flowers will be given to their families to display at their choosing 🙂

Silk. They won’t get damaged throughout the day, and then after, you can either keep as a souvenir or sell them on..

We're having artificial flowers for a few reasons. Most importantly... me and my Fiancé have INSANE hayfever and any sort of real flowers make us sneeze! Aritifical (silk) are also much cheaper and we can keep them 😁

I'm having silk . But only because were getting married in Greece. Not sure real would survive the flight lol . In all honesty o dont think it really matters just go with what you prefer x

UKbride Administrator

I'm going silk and I'd like to sell them cheaply or gift them on afterwards. Mainly due to hayfever worries and because I like to think of things being reused x

Fake for me as it's cheaper and my family member is making it a year in advance without worrying about time frames or them dying. Can also keep after if I want to for memories 👍

Real. Silk and artificial, surprisingly, cost more.
And if you don’t know what to do with them, care home the next day? Or as a thank you gift for those who helped you

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 8 Apr 2019

I don’t regret paying the extra for real flowers at all, if it’s affordable to you!
Dried mine out afterwards by hanging them upside-down and they still look gorgeous x
