Nauseous.

So I'm going to my first trunk show tomorrow and for a little try on session... I'M SO NERVOUS! I haven't slept properly in 3 days. I have no idea why. I LOVE shopping. Trying on clothes is my normal happy place. Why am I so scared? The designer I'm going to check out is amazing and my current 'dream' dress is beautiful. I know the idea I have in my head might not go to plan and that's okay. I think I'm most worried about the staff putting me dresses ill hate. I'm so OCD I know exactly what id like and even more what I don't. I just don't want my first dress experience to be awful ????

Just don't put too much pressure on it. View it as a research session. You've done the online research now comes the in person trial and error. You're not going out to buy your dress you're just going to try some dresses and get a feel for what suits. Whatever you like and don't like you can take forward for more online and in person window shopping. This first time is just for fun! :) whenever you see something you aren't in love with tell the sales assistant as they often have tricks to change thjngs as well.

Just enjoy the experience and be honest with the staff if there is something you don't like, you might fall in love with the first dress you try or you might have to go on a few visits to different shops, just try to relax and if you get too overwhelmed just take a break and chill it's all about what you want. You are over thinking it just relax and enjoy!!! Good Luck! 🥂

Have fun! Remember everything looks different on the hanger. Keep an open mind and try everything on then make the love or hate opinion. Just try and relax and enjoy the experience.

I think this is a normal feeling, I was the same, worried I wouldn't like anything and geting disheartened... Try not to worry too much, it can be overwhelming but just relax and enjoy it. Funny enough I ended up falling in love and buying my dress on my 1st visit to the bridal shop

So many OCD brides don’t find the right dress because they refuse to try. Be open to try different styles but be firm if you don’t like a style. I fell in love with a picture of mine so I bought the first one I tried and had the moment. You may feel the same but I still tried on others to make sure I definitely loved this one most!

Don’t worry
You never know what you like until you try a dress on. If you try a dress on and hate it that’s okay you just know not to try on one like that again.

I thought I knew exactly what I wanted. Turned out what I wanted didn't suit me. Tried on a few styles I wouldn't normally have looked twice at and one of those ended up being "the one". My advice is don't stress and go with an open mind.

Just don't put too much pressure on yourself and keep your mind completely open!
I hated on me what I thought I wanted, and was blown away by the style of dress I thought I didn't want !! 👰

Relax and enjoy the day. They say keep an open mind as sometimes things you wouldn’t necessarily choose or go for can land up being what suits you best. Good luck and happy shopping.

Keep an open mind! The people who work in this industry have such a good eye for clothes.
I was reccomended by a few bridal shop assistants to try on dresses I would NEVER try on, and I was so pleasantly surprised! Some of them looked amazing!
Good luck and just enjoy the experience :) good luck x

Just go with the flow. Try on everything they suggest! I spent weeks refusing to try on anything with a hint of lace, and got frustrated when I couldn't find anything. Caved in, tried on a lace dress. I instantly fell in love. Tried on another lace, then another. All amazing. Totally opposite from what I expected!
It is nerve wracking the first time you go... perhaps a part worries you wont find "the one"... and not everybody has that OH MY GOD moment. But just go with someone you trust and have fun! I'll have my fingers crossed for you!🤞🤞

Agree with all those who say keep an open mind. I went in with a vision of what I wanted and ended up buying something poles apart and I couldn't be happier.

I agree, go with an open mind. I had my mind set on a type of dress I wanted, but they know their stuff! They got me to try on something I wouldn’t of picked and I fell in love with it.
Best thing is to just relax and enjoy trying dresses on, they always look totally different once you have them on!

Try on every sort of style of dress and every sort of different fabric. Be open minded and and if there is something you dont like about a dress you try on, tell the assistant as they may have something very similar but different hanging in stock! Dont worry about finding the dream dress, use your first experience as a way if discovering what you do and dont like when trying on dresses, so you can get some ideas and maybe do some more research. Dont worry if you feel a bit 'meh' about all the dresses, it took me 3 try ons of the dress I chose before I felt it was the one. And remember this experience is meant to be fun and exciting, not an ordeal or something you have to 'get through' as part of the wedding planning 😊

I went to my first trunk show knowing I wanted to try on my dream dress, I tried it on first and fell in love instantly the most prefect dress for me, however I was open to trying lots of other different dresses and styles chosen for me to make the most of my appointment, it just reaffirmed that the first dress I tried on was the one! Go with you heart/gut and enjoy yourself xx

I had seen my dream dress on the shops Facebook weeks before I went to my appointment and was adamant that it would look stunning on me. Tried it on and I hated it, it just didn't look right, and all the styles I thought were what I wanted, i hated. The lady gave me one to try that I was adamant I'd hate, and I loved it, it was THE dress, as soon as I put it on I was like wow, this is the dress for me. So go in with an open mind, they know what they're doing, and will never make you buy something you're not 100% happy with.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I went dress shopping last week and luckily found the dress I loved. I went to two different shops, I ended up trying on dresses I had originally not thought I’d like (ball gown) and was actually really surprised with how confident I felt in them. You’ll know how you feel once you put them on, and it’s good that you know that what you’re thinking of might not be the one. Enjoy the experience and try on loads, at the end of the day it’s a dress you want to feel amazing in, it doesn’t matter how many dresses it takes to find it. I think in all I tried on about 12 until I found the one, and then that was in the second shop. I also took my mum and sister with me to get their opinions, my sister isn’t one to beat around the bush, if she thought it didn’t look right she let me know maybe take someone who’s opinion you trust and that you know that they won’t just say it looks good for the sake of it.

I had a wedding dress shop the lady will know if you hate it and she will want you to get your dream dress you will both know when you find the one and don't worry if you can't find one it will be at another shop good luck xx
