Dress Design

I keep finding elements of wedding dresses that i love online but haven't found all of the features together to make the perfect dress. I've looked at loads of websites for shops too and they are nothing like what i want. Am i destined to have my dress made?

You could look at bridal separates? A good option to piece together the dress you want without having it made xxx

I was surprised when trying on dresses and fell in love with a dress that I didn't think I would have liked... My best advice is to go and try on different styles, as what u really like in picture may not be right for you once you've tried it on. Have a shopping day and experiment with different dresses, have fun with it x

You could look on Etsy to find someone that offers a custom option.

I think mine will have to be made when the time comes, I have pictures of what I want just needs to be in cream

I would definitely recommend going to try different dresses on... everything looks so different online / on hanger to how it actually looks on you!

I found the same thing, I bought a sample dress with the majority of the features I wanted (and the ones that would be hardest to add), and have then asked a seamstress to complete the other alterations I wanted. I’ve now got a fab, great priced dress that no-one else will have without having to have the whole thing made 🙂

Try stuff on but if you want it made try Bees Knees Boutoque in Manchester. They let you design it, choose your fabrics etc... I've got a great quote for my base design, price varies on fabric and fittings :)

Keep looking- i found one that's perfect in the end. Recommend trying them on not just looking on sites, shops will have more in than is on the site

Try dresses on and don't have your heart set on a certain style because it might not suit you. I came across this when I chose my dress. Went one of the big Bridal warehouses because you don't need an appointment so could take as long as I wanted. Tried on loads of different styles, colours, lengths etc. The one I thought I'd love, I actually really disliked and ended up finding a style that really flattered my figure and made me feel a million dollars... and that is what it's about. When you find THE dress you will know.

Totally agree about going to try some on!
I was about to order mine online made to measure and went to try some on for the fun of it and loved one my Best Man and mum picked out. Nothing like what I wanted at all but I love it so much. 👍 happy dress hunting. X

Try some on you never know what’s going to happen until you try them on . If you don’t like them once there on have a look at getting one made . Or you can ask about alterations On a dress that’s close to the dress you want .

My daughter tried dress on that was her perfect dress and didn’t like it, she ended up with a dress she definitely didn’t want and looked and felt fantastic, try on dresses at outlets it’s worth it. They bring what you ask for then bring what they think will suit you, you will be surprised

Try on dresses before you decide, friend of mine ended up with a dress she never thought she'd go for. Try different materials, shapes and styles to get a feel for what suits you best
