When to send invites for a destination wedding

Hello, I'm getting married next year, in Spain. We are getting married in May half term. When would be best to send invites out? As people will need to book flights ect. It is only close family and a few friends, most of whom know it is in Spain. Thank you for your help!

I would do it the sooner the better, means people can get organised, especially when it’s half term x

I would think as soon as possible so that as soon as flights are released they can book their flights and also find accommodation. Have a wonderful day x

Sooner the better people need to book next year's holiday of work from April this year ! And then they can confirm if they have got the time off ! It's never too soon to be organised

You could always send out save the dates and state it’s abroad so then they can get organised x

Flights are usually released 12 months in advance. If your doing save the dates, get them out now I would say and state it’s in Spain and area so people can get flights to the right part.. and then send formal invites a couple of months later or if your going just normal invites get them out now x

I would send save the dates out first and do that soon as people will need to book time of work and save as being half term it will be more expensive

I would skip the save the dates and just send the invites now so then people know what hotels to book etc otherwise they won’t really be able to book anything with just a save the date. Some people might need to start looking at quotes sooner rather than later to be able to afford to make it. Half term would be very expensive no matter where it is. Leaving it until later in the year might risk the Hotel being booked up as a lot of people now book so far in advance for school holidays.

Flights will be open for buying soon, let them all know sooner rather than later so they can get a good deal

You could always email people the details for places to stay, just have a one sided invite with date, time, venue and RSVP date

Good luck

Just send the invites at least 6 months before. I’m sure you can give everyone flight info verbally as you see everyone. I put flight info on my invites. And I also had a website which had loads of info on (Getting married.co.uk)

Thank you all for your help. I understand it's not the cheapest time to do it but we have a daughter at school plus nieces and nephews. Hopefully booking the venue this week so will get the invites out as soon as! :)
