Hi quick question... We are looking at getting married in Italy and booking through a wedding planner instead of a travel agent... Has anyone got any advice on what to do/ what not to do? We have already been in communication with one and are happy with what they have offered us but I just wonder if it's going to be really difficult to actually organise? Tia x
With any wedding planners it's all go when they are getting your information deposit etc, then it quietens down till the weddings nearly paid and your resort planner kicks in, then it's all go again. We have a UK based wedding planner who then passes us on to Cypriot coordinator for the final 3 months of arranging in more depth. It depends what you want.
Depending where you are getting married there are some great groups on Facebook. We’re doing the amalfi coast in May, we have a planner who has been amazing and booked everything through her rather than a travel agent, but we aren’t doing the traditional hotel wedding. So I guess it depends on what you want xx
We got married in Rome and used a wedding planner for the booking of the ceremony and all the documents and booked everything else ourselves. Was not difficult and saved a massive amount in comparison to the quotes from both travel agents and wedding planners to do everything x
We got married in Sorrento in May 2017 and used a local planner - the organisation was a breeze! Our planner (as I'm sure most do) had all the necessary contacts and took all the stress out of having to do everything ourselves - we still made all of the decisions, but they guided us through the process. Would definitely recommend doing it this way!
We are wanting to get married in Sorrento too, the wedding planner so far has been great and is getting quotes sorted. I think it just the sorting of flights and stuff around the dates makes me slightly unsure. 🤔
