Bouquet advice

Looking for bouquet advice! Has anyone used Lillies? They’re my favourite flower and would love to use them, but I’m worried about them staining! I still want to use real flowers - has anyone used lillies or other flowers that stain easily and did you have any problems with them? Tia x

I used to work in a florist and anytime we used lillies we would pull the pollen pods out x

Most good florists will take the pollen stamens off to avoid any getting on to your clothes. I love lillies too but with all my allergies I had to have artificial ones but they still looked amazing.

Sorry not a clear photo but they cut the stamens out of the middle of my calla lillies, a good florist will remove them for you 🙂 x

Have you thought of having fresh and silk flowers, then you can have your lillies and not worry about the pollen staining

Florists will cut the stamens off thereby eliminating the problem. Lillies are also my favourite flower so I say go for it! You could opt for Calla Lillies also which are smaller and work well in a bouquet and have a variety of colours?

I had real lillies on table but for my bouquet, I had silk. You couldn't even tell the difference, from eBay. I don't like lillies without the stem, they look very different, and the fake ones of course had it so looked great.

Theres a difference to Calla lilies and normal stargazers or oriental lilies. The calla is a good alternative yes but its not a lily. It doesn't have a scent. lilies are quite delicate and easily damaged when using in bridal work which is why florists tend to use the Calla. Best thing to do is have a look on Pinterest etc and if actual oriental lilies is what your after speak to a florist. Even if you get a few heads in the middle of the ht and then padded out around them it will give you the scent and look.

I think the pollen bit gets pulled out, so you should be fine x

Ask your florist to take the stamen out (the bit with the pollen on) and no problem
