Where would you get married if you didn’t want to get married in a church? I don’t but I’m not sure a resigster office is for me either
Not sure where you are but in Scotland you can get married anywhere as long as you have the land owners permission. We are having our ceremony at the hotel and the registrar is marrying us
We’re getting married in our reception venue ️ so we’ll have the ceremony and then go outside for drinks whilst they change the layout to the tables for the meal x
Anywhere you like!
We have decided on a venue that can do the ceremony and reception in one place, they offer the choice of both in one room or seperate rooms for ceremomy and reception. Anywhere that has a lisence to perform legal ceremonies will be able to help you x
Anywhere! We are thinking a fancy stately home with gorgeous decor and views
We’ve picked the Hilton hotel everything all in one place
Our wedding ceremony is in the hotel that we selected for the reception
We're getting married in a manor house that's also a small hotel. It's beautiful. :) It's called the Langdon Court Hotel and is in our hometown of Plymouth, Devon (where all our family are). Perfect for the small wedding we're planning.
We got married in an old Manor House and had the reception there too, it was beautiful! Check your local registry office as they have a list of alternates you can have a look at which have been approved x
The National Trust do weddings in some of their stately homes. My first wedding was in one and it was fabulous. The ceremony alone was £1500 not including the registrar and that was nearly 14 years ago so definitely not the cheapest option xxx
In the uk you can get married in any registered building, I got married last September outside in a beautiful garden as I wanted an outdoor ceremony. We had to stand under a wooden structure for the legal bits as it was registered! Just do an internet search and find what type of venue you would like. If you find the dream location and it isn’t registered then you can still have a ceremony there for all your friends and family, you just have to go sign the register at a registry office to make it legal. Congrats and good luck! X
I got married at Dundas Castle, was the fairytale wedding of my dreams 😍😍
In the hotel we are having our reception and getting a spiritualist ceremony
I got married in a hotel. All in one place x
so many venues are licensed for weddings!
Your local council should have a list of all he registered buildings (or the council where you are looking to get married) that might be a good place to start.
We're getting married here.. Tyn Dwr Hall in Wales. Having ceremony and reception there, 4 weeks to go
We got married in hotel/golf club. Works out cheaper and can all stay the night.
We got married at our venue. Beautiful location and very picturesque and meant that we didn't need lots of transport and moving around. You may also find that you have more flexibility e.g outdoors/indoors, timing, service content, vows etc. Get in touch with your local council and they will be able to advise you on where you can legally hold a civil ceremony and what you can expect. Good luck.
We are getting married in a lovely place called Woodland Waters. They have a function room where you get married, is drapped and looks lovely. It then opens out later for the reception, private garden, lakes very pretty. Some hotels such as Petwood Hotel, Carre Arms (these are local to me) have function rooms designed for wedding and are very nice. There are lots of options open to you. Your local district council will have a list of all licences venues in your area x
We got married in a hotel. It was lovely and not stressful! I didn't want a registry office but having the hotel allowed us to decorate the room for us, we had an arch, nice chairs, an aisle, lit back drop and we could have had lanterns and all kinds. Xx
We chose a hotel that has the licence to wedding ceremonies.
Like you I didn't want to get married in a registry office so I opted for a hotel that has everything included in the price. Yes its more expensive but it's what myself and htb wanted x
Getting married on a beautiful farm on the Isle of Wight with one barn for the rustic ceremony and another bigger barn with marquee attached for the reception.
We got married on the bandstand of a local hotel. Most hotels and stately homes are licensed but just look around xxx
Im going to be getting married in a local barn like venue as I dont want the church thing either
I got married on a cruise ship 4 years ago. Easiest wedding ever, we boarded, saw the planner and then they planned everything. We just had to choose which day we wanted. Not cheap when you add the cruise price to the cost of the wedding, plus guests.
We are doing the legal bit with minimal witnesses in the registry office then having a ceremony and wedding in a woodland with a barn party afterwards
I'm getting married at a vineyard
We got married in a licensed shepherds hut in North Wales
We got legally married at a farm and vineyard (!) in Wiltshire; super casual, cosy and beautiful...There were a few registered locations on the farm where we could be married legally, including a wooden prairie house in the vineyard (made by hand), a gorgeous barn with a fairy-light ceiling or even an outdoor pergola where you two were under the ‘registered building’ pergola and your guests were facing you on th grass... there are so many options to explore...
Take a look at your council’s website to find registered venues for a legal ceremony...
Alternatively you could look at any private location... and ask a celebrant to do a ‘ceremony’ but it wouldn’t be legally binding (until you went to a registry office to officially do the paperwork) some do it before their celebration, others do it after
I got married in a beautiful local hotel by a registrar. X
I got married in a planetarium
We got married in a hotel. Was great cos meant we didn't need cars or buses used that money on other stuff
We got married at hotel it was lovely to have it all in one place
You could get married in a hotel
We got married at our reception venue x
We have picked a Mercure hotel in Hertfordshire. Having the whole wedding in one location ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception found it so much easier then hunting for various locations!
Good luck with your wedding planning!
Anywhere! So many places to choose from now! We were going to get married at an rhs garden but due to our chosen date (next month!) we went for a safer weather option and chose a hotel to have the whole day at.
Got married at our venue, beautiful members club right by the river, anything that's registered can work.
I've booked mine in at a hotel and we're having the ceremony and the do all in the same place 😊
A hotel or a boat? X
We are having a civil ceremony at a hotel
We've decided on a venue where we can get married and have reception all under one roof. Me and my bridesmaids are getting ready at a hotel near by and that where me and my husband will spend our wedding night. If you choice a hotel you could have everything under one roof and no wedding cars needed. Good luck.
We had a barn wedding at Trenderway Farm near Looe, it was absolutely magical.
loads of hotels can do wedding nows just look around xx
