Honest thoughts on videography? Worth it? Did you regret not having it? Was the footage what you thought it would be?

We didn’t pay for a videographer and don’t regret it. We bought a video camera and asked one of our groomsmaids to film key parts of the day. Much cheaper and we still have footage of our ceremony etc.

I’m not getting one due to money, I have been told they are good if you can afford it. Instead I am planning on borrowing 4/5 video cameras and doting them around to record everything from different angles.

We're not having one... we both said how many times realistically are we going to sit down and watch it, max 10 times maybe 15?? Not really worth the £1000 price tag... We have decided to put a bit more into a photographer and pay for prints to go on the wall which we can see everyday :)

I’m thinking about having a go pro on a tripod to record bits and it will be an investment as can be used for holidays and key occasions

Amazing. I would book again. Will always recommend it.
This is a little trailer from my wedding. A few people we know who didn't have their day filmed have since regretted it - especially after seeing ours or someone elses.

A videographer was always something i kept coming back to and umming and arring over.

We both agreed very early on that we were going to have a no expense spared photography package and were over the moon with Double Take Photography.

I can honestly say that booking a videographer
was without a doubt the best decision ever!!

Being so busy on the day it flew by and we missed so much. Having Matthew from The wedding station there to capture everything was amazing and really affordable too.

Watching it back was way more emotional than i thought and with 8 children, 2 babies and 2 dogs to capture he had his work cut out but its magical!!

I absolutely love our photographs and the expressions that have been captured but to watch the emotions on film is something else.

I dont think alot of people even knew who he was and what he was doing as he was that discreet!!

Without a doubt the best thing we booked!!

Pictures only tell one side of the story. You will 100% regret not having a video. A lot of people are put off on cost, but even a roughly put together video is amazing - try local Unis etc for students to keep costs down. If money isnt an issue, then there is no question - do it! x

I wish we had but it wasn’t in our budget. As long as you have a great photographer you’ll have fabulous memories.

Definitely worth every penny. Received our video at the weekend and it’s great. You miss out and forget loads and it just reminds you what a spectacular day it was. And in years to come you can watch it again, show kids and grandkids, see relatives that may not be with us anymore. I would of regretted it, if we didn’t get a videographer.

Ask around as many photographers can do it for you too! As a Milton Keynes based photographer we currently offer video at no extra cost while we learn it!

I wish we had’ve had it. The day passed in a blur and I would love to have been able to look back and see it all.

Regretted not having it. Definitely.
If you have the budget, go for it. And I think it goes without saying (like with photographer): RESEARCH! Find someone whose style you like, see examples of their work. Quality.

Been married 6 years, didn’t have a videographer and no regrets whatsoever. We do still very occasionally look at our wedding album, but can’t imagine sitting down and watching a video of our day. Absolutely no regrets

I 100% don't regret paying out for a videgrapher. So many disagree but I asked friends to film the important bits and that saving of over a grand makes me much happier. Personal priorities but I'm so glad I went with my gut and didn't book one. We only got married this weekend too so I'm still high on wedding vibes and still glad I saved on that part x

I would always suggest a videographer, anyone that I know that did not book one, really regretted it! I have some recommendations if you ever need any good ones.

My husband died a year following our wedding and we didn’t have a videographer, a family member did manage to get some footage but not of great quality. My son has seen it, finds it good watching himself little and seeing what daddy looked and talked like as he was 3. It was one of the first things on my list this time. Without a doubt!! X
