My mum passed away a couple of years ago and I would like to incorporate her wedding dress into my wedding, any ideas on how to recycle / repurpose her dress?

I’m going to turn my mums dress into the pillow with the rings on.

Does it match your wedding theme? Have it madr smaller n into a flower girl dress.

Have it made into a blanketwith the date on?

Have it made into a top table

Take a small piece of her dress, cut it into a heart shape and sew it into yours on the inside so it’s pressed against your heart.

You can have dresses restored and framed it could be used as a backdrop behind your head table

One question I would be asking myself would be if my mum had kept her wedding dress for that long, would she want it to be cut up?

I had a butterfly theme and luckily I found a butterfly broach in her jewellery box So I put that on my dress. Also when I was trying to get ideas, seamstresses has sown in pockets into the dress on the inside for a photo to be put in. A few other ideas is to put a picture of her at the top table where she would have sat, I’ve seen that a couple of times. Or having a little memorial table out

You could have a piece of it tied into your bouquet.... my little girl passed away just before her 3rd birthday 13yrs ago now and my partner has bought an engraved locket for me which I have had photos of her put in and I’m having that tied into my bouquet.xx

I’m having my wedding dress turned into memory teddy bears, one for my daughter and one for my son. Then they have it forever. X

You could have a wedding dress tree where you hang old wedding dresses onto a tree and have lanterns inside them. If you use chicken wire to fill them out it looks amazing x

My mum cut some of the lace from her dress and used it to make a garter for me. She also sewed my nan (who is no longer with us)’s wedding ring into the garter too.
Was a perfect way to incorporate both but without changing the aesthetic I wanted
