Planning to be wed either April next year or the year due to the wanted date. Money is going to be tight so sticking to a budget, any tips for photographers or cake? Thanks
Where are you based? If you are looking for a photographer i highly recommend Sarah Louise Photography
Marks and Spencer’s cake is great! We had a 4 tier cake and cake to about £118 (or £94 if you know someone who works there). Went down a treat and only had a bit left over... x
Don't cut corners on a photographer. If it's the only "big expense" you have. Your photos will be so precious to you after the big day.
If you really don't mind though, look around for upcoming photographers who are wanting to expand their portfolio, you may get some good deals.
We found opting for a naked cake (don't like icing anyway) reduced our cake costs by alot of money
Defo M&S cakes. So popular with everyone whether they’re on a budget or not. Great quality. Good luck
Look on wowcher we had a great photographer

Go for cake makers that do it from home not a shop. You’ll find it’s loads cheaper, my cake is costing £160 for a 4 tier cake and we’re having loads of decorations on it to. A shop quoted me nearly £500 for it
And as for photographers, you can’t put a price on it, the cheaper you go the probably likely to be bad. Really look into photographers because you’ll be looking at those photos for the rest of your life and if the photographer isn’t very good you’d be gutted x
If your anywhere near Cambridgeshire, Molly G videography seem really good - I’ve booked them. It’s £795 for either video or photo or £995 for both, and the quality is really good - they don’t do photo books or anything, they just give you a usb stick with all the photos, with full copyright to them so you can print your own.
We’ve ordered a nice cake but we’re skipping on dessert with the dinner and going for the cake instead - I had heard that the cake is often not eaten, so this way it definitely will be and it saves money!
Photography is the one thing I would recommend spending on. Look around and don't be affraid to ask questions. Met our photographer at a wedding fair and got a discount (by asking if they offered any discount for advance booking)
In terms of cake, Cupcake towers are cheaper and keep an eye on buy swap sell sites for locals with good reviews.
I chose a photographer to do pics from the ceremony to the first dance. Saved a lot, before and after that I guarantee everyone will be snapping their phones and you can ask for copies.
Marks and spencers, they do cakes you can tier yourself and decorate, ebay do amazing decorations, or YouTube for DIY tutorials
Don’t use anyone but a professional photographer I gave an amateur a chance and they canceled three weeks before the wedding literally they aren’t worth it. But my mum got two iced fruitcakes from m and s and added flowers with cake glue and a wedding topper you’d never know it wasn’t made for a wedding xx
See if family can help, we are having our cake made by my mother in law.
what area are you? j can recommend M&S for cake we found it a lot cheaper to buy the tiers separate coat around 65 then bought the decs off eBay all in all cake cost around 85 x bargain as for photographer I found mine through Facebook and amazing price of 450 2 hours before ceremony till the cake cut and first dance what an amazing job but Manchester based x
