A strange question, but is anyone going to their grooms suit fitting/s?? We know what colours for him to try, but he has said about me coming along as I have a better eye than him. This doesn't bother me but I didn't know if there was any superstitions, like the groom seeing the dress before the ceremony. Many thanks!!

I went with my h2b when he went for his he wanted my opinion as did the best man and his wife / my maid of honour.. I don't think it matters and there's no superstition saying not to.. Us women do have a better eye for things😁.. Happy planning xxx

I didn't go with my hubby as I wanted the surprise at the end of the aisle. I figured since he wouldn't see my dress, I wouldn't see his suit x

I'm going to my h2b's fitting and he's coming to my dress fitting, but neither of us are superstitious at all. We both know that each other will be more honest than anyone else. Truly depends on whether you want a complete surprise on the day :)

I went with my h2b to pick it out (although he picked it all himself in the end) they went alone for the final fitting though x

I went with mine as he was having it made. My sister and his dad cake too. My sister has a good eye for detail so helped with picking the materials and buttons. Ended up costing us a small fortune so turns out she has expensive taste too.

My h2b went with his son/best man, he doesn't think I should see his suit as he isn't seeing my dress, fair enough lol. I did however ask several of my friends for opinions and made him show them to make sure it all fits as it should etc. Each to their own, if he's asking for your input then I'd take it as a compliment and go x

I went with my H2B, I didn't want to see him in his kilt before the big day but nobody else seemed interested in going with him so I went and I'm so glad I did we had a lovely day x

Im not going. I want it to be a surprise, I think he will pick wisely! Although when I booked the appointment for him she made a note of our colour scheme & the big NO NO’s all done discretely! She said they sway him from the no no colours!

As my hubby to be is English and he wants to wear a kilt for our big day (I am Scottish and we live in Scotland) I went with him to help him choose what tartan as neither of us have a family tartan and he didn't want to mess it up 😊
No superstition about the bride seeing the groom's outfit, just the groom seeing the dress.

I went with my husband suit shopping for him and for the groomsmen. Tradition only states that the groom shouldn't see the bride's outfit x

We went together to talk about the suits and the lady put him on one, didn't expect to see him in it but he looked gorgeous he is now sorting the rest of the suit fittings so I don't see everyone until the day...i personally don't think there is anything wrong with going with your h2b, we found it fun!

We haven’t picked out suits yet but I will most defiantly be accompanying my H2B when the time comes otherwise no idea what he’d come home with neither of all the men have an eye for detail

I went with my groom. He wanted me to so that I could make sure he got something that would fit with the wedding. Plus we needed 2 different styles as one of my bridesmaids is male. If he wants you to then I don’t see any problem with it

UKbride Administrator
UKbride Administrator 12 Jul 2018

I went just to have a quick look with him and he tried one on just to get an idea of fits and that was the one he fell in love with.

My H2B has said the same! I thought “well you won’t get to be involved in my dress, so maybe I should leave you to do the suits” however he was keen for me to come along :) don’t think there’s any harm!
