Hen party ideas: Hi everyone. I’m struggling for hen party ideas. I’ve got a hen party of around 20 mixing ages from 20 years old plus. I’m already organising a spa day for my mum and my mum in law to be. But for the others Something else. I’m having abit of grief from family because I’m being boring. But they are suggesting idea some of my closest friends can’t do as they are single mum and my moh has no job and a single mum. So a weekend away it’s not suitable for them. I no I have bowling, a meal, girls night in. But I do all those things near enough every month so it wouldn’t seem that special for a hen party. I don’t drink , I don’t enjoy strippers I personally find it degrading . I like theme parks but other guests hate them. It’s so hard to find to fit ideas to fit all. And to top it off my 3 sister in laws to be . When we go out for a meal all they do is bickering and then 1 storms off and it makes me feel why bother. I love them to death I do. But I’d rather just do something with my closest of friends and have no Agro. In need of advice .

Don’t feel pressured into doing anything you mentioned a spa day so do that with your moh mil mum and anyone else close to you

Afternoon tea? About £20-£35 per head depending on where you go and whether or not you have presecco. Or a hen photoshoot. I did this on a friends hen, we all paid £30 and she got to choose the theme on the day. She choose Wild West so the photo studio dressed us up as saloon girls and gave us all quick makeovers then we had a photoshoot followed by selecting the prints we wanted on a CD. Great fun.

I've suggested to my MoH that it'd be fun to do a Life Modelling class. I don't want a stripper but you can have hen or stag art classes where you can draw a nude model. For me that's the perfect balance between hen naughty without being tacky.

It's your day. Organise what you want to do and if others don't like it they don't have to go. You can't please everyone. And as not everyone likes the same things it will be impossible for you to find something that everyone likes.
I'm going glamping with a small number of people, keeping it simple and chilled. And doing Go Ape at Thetford forest on one if the days. A couple people aren't taking part in the Go Ape as it's not for them but they're getting involved with the rest. As nothing will ever suit everyone. Good luck!

I did a cocktail making masterclass in a London and then went for dinner. Think the class was £20/25 per person and they also did silly games

I personally don't want anything like a party or night out. I'd much prefer a spa/few drinks with a lunch or dinner somewhere/night in with my bridesmaids. It's hard to plan though as I've got family and friends in different areas of the country lol. I'm gonna leave the planning to my bridesmaids anyway lol less for me to organise

A makeover and photo shoot? One of those escapism things? Thing of things you wouldn’t normally do, look on groupon for ideas! I’m not one for the standard night out with loads of drinking and strippers and I’ve told me MOH to avoid that and I’ve told her what I want x

Paint balling, crazy golf, pretty muddy type thing? Theatre? We went to watch a matinee performance of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and it was fab!

I’m doing a week away to Spain with my closest friends as a kind of hen do. But then likely doing something local for those who can’t come to the week away. My OH is doing a week in Vegas with his mates/brother and dad but not doing anything else. Everyone is different. You do your thing.

Escape rooms, go karting, some other experience day like making cocktails (or mocktails) etc. Spa, afternoon tea, just a nice meal out or have a themed night at home?

I went to a hen do in someone's back garden, they had set up a gazebo and asked everyone to make or buy a cakes, or cup cakes, then we had posh afternoon tea, cake and wine, it was great, so relaxed and suitable for all ages. Then maybe you could incorporate a pampa session, if someone you now does nails, make up etc.

Could you all not do a spa day with afternoon tea? Marriot hotels do spa day, one treatment each and afternoon tea for £55 each which is quite a good deal then just dinner and a few drinks in the evening for people who can do/ afford the evening bit.

I plan on having a huge sleepover with close friends as I have a 5mo baby and some of my friends have kids. That way we will put all the kids to bed in the nursery and cook a nice meal/ watch old movies etc. Xxx

We had 20 of us booked a massive house in the middle of scotland for 2 nights.
It had a hot tub, karaoke and loads of other stuff in the house :) it was brilliant as we all just had a lovely chilled time, got hammered and had loads of fun! Our ages ranged from 18 to 80 :P

Could organise an afternoon tea at home, would be cheaper than paying out per person if it was a money issue for some people. Obviously it’s a bit more work but the poundshops always have stuff in them for these sorts of things.
Don’t stress yourself over what your hen guests are doing, if they are your real friends they will support and put their differences aside for the afternoon so you can have a lovely day. Hope it all goes well whatever you decide to do xxx

Day at the races? Doesn't have to be expensive, can book train tickets in advance, set a 50p bet limit so people don't feel like they have to spend a lot, nice excuse to put on a pretty dress and you can get fascinators in Matalan, primark etc

My MOH is planning my hen do based on what I like. It will probably be a booze weekend away. I know a lot of my friends won’t want to go but that’s not my problem.
I’ve been to plenty of hen dos that aren’t my cup of tea. Your guests should put themselves out for you not the other way around.

You do what you want to do and if folk don't like it then tough on them. Have an afternoon tea or a bowling night. Go for a meal somewhere extra nice. It is your hen night not theirs.

What about an away day, rather than an overnight. You could book an afternoon tea or something at a nice hotel, a car or train ride away, maybe one with nice grounds you could wonder around and explore. Depending on the time of year of your hen do, you could take silly games (Pinterest have some - not all hen party games involve drinks) and you could sit in the grounds or bar and play games and gossip and things.

I’m also looking for alternative ideas for my hen do. As I’ve a 3 year old and I’ll have a 1 year by next year and I feel that to a certain extent my mad partying day are over. Xx

I felt the same. Can't please everyone. 1. You shouldn't be planning your own hen do and 2. Everyone should be happy to do what you want to do. I knew that wouldn't be the case so I decided to sack off a night out (I don't really drink) to do the muddy race for life. Most of the hens have signed up to do it too and our numbers have Laura's hens on it so that we can all be part of it together. X

I'm having my hen do with my bridesmaid and mother in law. It's a girls night in as they both know I don't do nightclubs etc. So a pampering girls night in of movies, chocolate and ice cream and beauty treatments 😊

We did Go Ape on the final day of my hen do and it was incredible! It's not a rollercoaster so hopefully that will keep the others happy, and you could combine it with something like a spa day the day before and a meal somewhere special :)

I work for an agency that do dance parties for hens, there's lots of places/people that do things like that that will come to you/arrange a venue near you. You can pick your own theme and dress up and have a giggle. If you get a good instructor they should be able to adapt everything, so everyone can join in whatever their age and level of fitness. Something a bit different but not too raunchy :)

Why not do a life drawing art class? Or chocolate making? Those types of things can be fun and all inclusive for your variety of attendees x

Ultimately choose something you want to do that fits best. My work friends and I went to a club tropicana night at a local events hall and got dressed up and danced to 90's and 00's music all night. For my family we had a sten/hag, the whole family boys and girls went out for the day somewhere we hadn't been and had a picnic and played baseball etc and then went on to a dessert place and had copious amounts of ice cream. They were both perfect and meant my whole family could be involved.

I had afternoon tea, though it was cocktails than actual tea but they happily changed it to real tea for those who didn’t drink. We had a private room and played games. We had a great time. Some of us went out afterwards xx

Afternoon tea and then out for the evening for those who want to join you?
Afternoon tea can be as cheap or not as you want it to be, as you could have it at someone’s house or out somewhere x

Could you make your own afternoon tea? (Get everyone else to bring something different?) maybe go to the woods? Play silly games, then go back to yours and have a pamper night?

I'm very similar to you. I didn't want a destination hen do as two of my sisters have small babies and it was right that they are there. So I have a party bus booked for 2 hours, costs around £20pp and you take your own alcohol. I think this is a cheap night out for everyone tbh. Good luck with whateve you do. Remember though that those that want to be there will be, whatever you decide that you want to do.

Some of the chain pizza restaurants offer a pizza making class where you make dough and then eat it as your dinner afterwards.

I'm doing a afternoon tea, and thinking about a hot tub weekend with my closest. I'm quiet and don't have many friends (haha) so only want something small, I always get embarrassed easy, so defo something boring for me!! Your friends/family should know what your like, dont feel pressured to do something you dont want to!!
