Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of where I could hire gold cutlery. So far the places I have found have worked at £400 for 120 guests which is way too much money for just cutlery. So cheap options please!

Less than £4 per guest? That is cheap

Before you buy gold cutlery have you checked if any of your guests are allergic to gold? If I went to a wedding and they had gold cutlery I would feel uncomfortable because I’m allergic to gold haha. Just a thought

Depends where you are as companies further away might be cheaper but may not deliver to where you are or charge a lot just for delivery. We're using the banqueting hire services for chairs. Their prices seem reasonable but they're based in Suffolk.

You can buy a 4 piece set on eBay for less than £5. You could then recoup some of the money by selling them on. Ali Baba might sell them wholesale for cheaper (check MSE website for info on buying wholesale from overseas)

why does it need to be good? after getting married last year I can honestly say no one would care so it's a waste of time and money. don't want to sound harsh just honest

This isn’t a dig or intended to be nasty in any way. Having been to many weddings in the past I can’t remember what colour cutlery I’ve eaten my food with. If you want gold be prepared to pay as it’s not a necessity at a wedding, this isn’t meant to sound nasty, just honest. I am 8 weeks away from my own wedding and you realise that no one will give a toss about all the little details as long as they are fed and have a good time watching two people get married! Spend your money elsewhere and on something you and your guests will remember, no one will be bothered what colour cutlery they use as long as it’s clean and they are fed! If you need gold cutlery to make you happy then I would say that price for 120 people is reasonable xx

Have you tried comparing the cost of hire with the cost of buying? Might be cheaper to buy

I don’t think you’ll get any cheaper than that. It seems very reasonable. Unless you get plastic sprayed gold
