If couples are having their first dance, what song they choosing to dance to and what age range are they apart of? Only I'm uncertain what song I want played and I'm curious a to what people have chosen and are they choosing them because it was something from there younger years or if it's because is a new song out that they just really like. Many thanks
Me and my partner are huge comic book fans. We like the TV show called the Flash and in the musical episode he proposes and sings a song called Running Home to You. This is our first dance song as we both fell in love with it and it incorporates our geeky sides as well 😀
Me and my Hubby to be are both 26 . We are choosing peter Gabriel - book of love we have chosen it as it was the first song we ever danced to as a couple so we loved the thought of it being our first dance as Mr and Mrs :) x
There will always be a "wedding song if the year" such as ed sheeran, james blunt, james Arthur, thousand years ... we are trying to steer clear of that and are looking for vintage love songs from the years we were born...or maybe favourite songs of the bride/grooms parents x
We chose "Can you feel the love tonight" but we had Passenger's version because we both love him plus we love Disney and it was in the Lion King :)
We had all I ever needed by Brett Michaels. We hadn't heard of it before and found it by chance and loved the words. He is a kinda country rock singer in America xx
We had Annie's Song by John Denver. The words just say it all. X
I think I'm having don't want to miss a thing by areosmith x
We got married last year and had truly madly deeply savage garden. The song came on one day and we sang it to each other and the words meant a lot to us x
We had a song by Daniel Powter, called Cupid which we heard once on the radio years ago and always loved I don’t think anyone else had even heard of it but it’s such a lovely song and has always made me think of my husband it’s what we decided to go with.
We had ‘Let’s Stay Together’ by Al Green, which cut into ‘Baby Got Back’ by Sir Mix Alot for the lols and invited guests on to the df to get the party started. As I am Australian, we are lucky enough to be having a second wedding in August at home in Sydney and we will be having ‘Be My Baby’ by the Ronettes. We are 31 and 32, music has a way of transcending time and place. Don’t fall into Ed Sheeran and ‘A Thousand Years’ fads if it isn’t you guys. Do you, it’s your day!
We've ummmed and ahhhed about ours a lot but think we have finally settled on it must be love by madness. It's the only song I hear and immediately think of him!
One of our first few dates was to see La La Land & we fell in love with the movie. We're having an acoustic cover of City Of Stars as our first dance
We are having Elvis can’t help falling in love again first song we danced to as a couple. And then it is switching when everyone hits dance floor to give me everything tonight pitbull as it’s the song we met too good to fill the floor and a bit of a laugh to x

We had 'amazed' by lonestar as words were so fitting to us both
I think we will be having UB40 can’t help falling in love. When we have been on holiday (Benidorm and Crete) we had heard it playing and even on Blackpool beach on Valentine’s Day! It’s everywhere we go and a beautiful song
Me and my husband did a vienesse waltz to John Denver's Annie's song... definitely not of our era as we're in our mid 20's. Just a beautiful song, everyone was in tears. I only got married on Thursday and tears come to my eyes when I hear the opening bars of the song pick something that fills you with emotions I would advise :)
We're both 25 at the moment, 27 by the time we get married. We're not ones for tradition so we'll be scrapping a first dance, we want everyone up to dance to Paramore, Still into you
We are both 47 and first dance is Never Enough from the greatest showman.
We danced to “I will do anything for love” by Meatloaf, hubby and I were late twenties when we married four years ago. We chose this song as we are both massive Meatloaf fans and one of the only artists we both share a love for.
My opinion was that it had to be a song we both loved and felt connected to. There’s no point dancing to something if one of you doesn’t really like it that much.
If you don’t have an artist you both share a passion for or a special song. Maybe just listen to lots of different types, new and old, make a shortlist and see if there is one that makes you both go “I love this song” then that’s your one. you’ll soon find one and remember it doesn’t have to be a slow one, you can have more of a dancey one if you want, it’s your day.
We didn't have a couple song but stumbled across a song called be my forever by Ed sheran and Christina Perry. We like it because it is upbeat and then we can jive to it. We don't wanna just shuffle around.
We had Ed Sheeran perfect and I still love it but hated how much it was played on the radio and all the different remixes . Our wedding was in May and it didn’t start playing on the radio straight away
We are having a song by rascal flatts called bless this broken road.. We are both in our early 30s, first heard it the Hannah Montana film.. But reading the words it just describes us... The DJ we are using knows us really well and know what sort of songs we request so was really surprised when we told him... But he gets it..
Me and my husband had Nickelback -Far away

We have the acoustic of no matter what, by Papa roach as it is the first song me and my other half listened to so it was chosen as meaningful rather than popular.
Go with something meaningful that is a part of you as a couple

We have picked a song that we both love, and means a lot to us. Pick whatever you feel is right, doesn’t matter if it’s from 1930’s, modern day, something no ones ever heard of or a popular choice. As long as you both are happy with it. Enjoy.
We had "can't help falling in love" by Elvis, just because it's been a song present in all different stages of our relationship. We were 26 & 29 when we got married (2016)

We’re having a song that was released before we were born. Most guests probably won’t know it but it’s a song from my favourite guitarist and I’ve loved the song since I was about 5 years old I think. All because my dad used to play it in the car. Luckily my fiancé is happy for us to have it.

We have picked Ed sheeran- Thinking out loud. As it was the first song we ever danced to and it was the song he put on when he proposed. I will be 25 he will be 28 at the time of our big day
We’re having The search is over by Survivor ( the same group that did eye of the tiger) it’s our song and has sentimental thoughts to it not just because of the words but the era ( we’re both in our 40s) and it’s also a group that my OH mom whose sadly passed away loved! I firmly believe it should have meaning
My husband is 27 and I’m 23 and we had Elvis - Can’t help falling in love

We have chosen I Just Can't Stop Loving You by Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett. My partner will be 24 when we get married and I will be 23. Michael Jackson is my favourite artist and his music helped me through a really difficult time (I was 13 and my mum was diagnosed with cancer and I became her carer while she was ill) so I said I wanted to dance to Michael but I let my partner choose which song hope you find the song that's right for you and your partner xx

28 & 29 when we marry and having Nickelback never gonna be alone
I really wanted our first dance to be "I will follow you on to the dark" by death cab for cutie but my h2b although he likes the song thinks his family will find it morbid, but there are so many songs we both like I'm stuck for choices and he's not a very deciduous person
We are having ed sheeran perfect not because it’s a popular choice but because the dj randomly played it after my hbh proposed to me at his 30th bday party 9 months before it was released as a single
We’ll be around 28 & 29 & thinking of having forever & for always - Shania Twain just because I just love that song & country music & the tempo just feels right for it ☺️
