So my wedding is not until 10.10.2020. I have already booked my venue and im paying off my photographer and i know i still have a lot to go, but im wanting to buy all my little crafty things now. I have found invites on hobycraft which i like alpng with cards i will use for my save the dates. Is it too esrly to purchase these things? Or does it not matter yet? Need to know because im getting anxious with only having 28 months to go ????
Hi BUY THE CRAFTING THINGS NOW :)
If you've got the money and you definitely like them, then start buying them 🙂.
I've found our save the dates and we will be getting them soon (though probably not sending them out until the end of the year) as we get married on the 7th May 2020.
Get them! It doesn’t matter how long is it till your date, it’s exciting just to be preparing for it!
I bought our invitations etc before we had even booked a date! We are on a budget, I liked them and they were a bargain so will just store them until needed. Gotta love an Aldi special buy lol x
Absolutely do whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it! There's no law! In fact I'm quite in awe you are so organised. I'm still yet to find my photographer and I get married less than 4 months
I personally think save the dates is a waste of money. We’ll be sending out our invites 9-12 months before the wedding. I will be putting a date in the invite where I need RSVPs by and if they are not back I am automatically assuming that they can’t/don’t want to be there. I’m not willing to waste money just to see if people want to come but yeah by all means get everything crafty now 🙂
I bought all my crafty things as I went along we booked ours 2 years prior to the date and we get married next month made it less stressful buying little bits here and there and didn't notice the cash spending as much either. X
I've been buying all my bits since the day we arranged it all joom and eBay have become my best friend I get married 12.03.2020 I have done all my bouquets my self from crafts got invites save dates button holes dress CD centre pieces all bought this year next year I plan on paying the venue and 2020 doing all the little bits needed at last min this is how we can afford it go for it it's lovely doing your own bits makes it all the more special and passes time xx
Leave them!! There will be more and it's just clutter for now! I bought things that I thought would be useful and I either can't find them or they are in the way!
If you have seen them and like them buy them now, you don't have to use them. Please don't worry about time - 'only 28months' is a very very long time!! I got engaged a year and a day to our wedding, and booked it with 10.5 months to go and it was fine!!
I'm getting married a year tomorrow and all I have booked is my church 😂 made me own save the dates that have been sent (you can only book foreign holidays a year in advance so I sent them out so they couldn't have that excuse) x
Nope I’ve bought loads of my bits and my wedding date isn’t till 09/5/20! It’s just storing them lol
Hi im getting married in March 2019 and i have got everything sorted out apart from place cards for the tables. It's alot less stress to spread things out and not have to spend every weekend running around sorting things out x
Buy it all now...
I'm getting married December 2019 but have been buying buts since June 2015. Lol.... xx
I'm also getting married in 2020 and I've already started buying the crafty bits xx
Get them if you want them. I’ve already got my invites for July 2020
Want to wish everyone all the best with all their wedding planning. We started planning ours at the beginning of January this year. I have been the stressed out one. But stressed for nothing really. Tomorrow is our wedding day and Saturday evening we will be celebrating with family and friends. Don't stress everything works out perfectly.
We bought craft stuff very early and then it took about six months to actually put the invites together!! So buying them with plenty of time was definitely the best decision!!
Getting married January 2020!! I’ve booked my venue and registrar.. looking for a good photographer then I’m going to wait a few months to start all the rest and focus on paying for my holiday :)xx
I’m not getting married until 5/10/19 and I have everything apart from dress and kilts!
Get everything now hun makes it easier on you in the long run if you’ve got everything done x
Get everything now hun makes it easier on you in the long run if you’ve got everything done x
I'm getting married in May 2020, and will go ahead planning it all now I've purchased wedding insurance!
Love the date by the way! haha
I'm getting married in 2020 too and I've just bought some confetti balloons and a Mr and Mrs sign for our top table! We made our save the date cards and are using the rest of the card for our invites. I think if you really like it then go for it as it will spread cost out. But I'm trying to bare in mind that styles and fashions change too, so something that you like now but there might be something different/better you see say in a years time xx
Get crafting. My wedding is Sept 2019 and I'm just ambling along doing bits here and there
We got engaged in January this year and get Married in July this year. It has been hard work esp on a budget so if you see something you like buy it now. X
Personally i would wait but thats only because i change my mind all the time. If youre confident that things like your colours etc wont change then go for it .
Buy now if that's what you want to do x
I’m not as organised as I want to be. If I had it my way I would have all invitations sent, the groomsmen picked, suits ordered, my dress and bridesmaids and hair and makeup sorted. I want everything to be booked now so I can pay it off and not have to worry but my mum and H2B think otherwise
We've booked for 30/7/2020 and pretty much everything is sorted I'm uber organised and making my own invites /save the date cards and have already started getting ideas etc so if it chills you out and you are ready to buy them and have somewhere safe to store them why not ️ can't beat being organised
Never to early to plan and get things
Maybe buy a few things you see around but also wait a bit on some of the bigger things like invitations. Sales and discounts come around every so often and you'll be able to save a lot of money if you just purchase stuff as and when the discount season rolls around. And if it gets to around 9 months before the wedding and there's still things you need to buy then you can start picking up the rest.
I only say this cause I got my invitations 50% off, saving us £80 or so. And we're having wooden names instead of place cards and we managed to get 40% off those as well, which saved us £30-40.
I’m getting married in 18 months and buying anything I see now! Have all my favours, invites about to be sent etc. Do it and be organised x
My wedding is 01.08.2020 and have photography, disco, venue and flowers all arranged, have bought my dress and shoes, bridesmaid dress and shoes and my Fiance has his shoes x
I'm getting married in July 2020 and already have my wedding dress paid off, fell in love soon as I saw it. Currently looking for places that hire land out so we can look into booking a marquee as we lobe the idea of a bbq rather than a formal sit down meal, this is the part I am struggling with, actually finding somewhere.
Good luck to everyone with their weddings and planning xxx
Buy them when you like if your D.I.Y then it can take a while to make them anyway....daily life is so inconsiderate and gets in the way! Make sure you buy a few extra to allow for mistakes you don't want to end up with not enough and then find out they no longer stock what you need.
I’m getting married 25th July 2020 and we’ve booked or venue, church and photographer too!! It’s so hard not to go mad a buy every crafty wedding thing that I see x
I can't believe how organised some of you lovely lady's are were getting married 0ctober 4th 2020 and I've just about page my deposit 🙈
I am getting married 03.10.2020 and have been told the earlier to start with DIY bits he better. So I have xxx
I say buy what u like when u see it. I have been buying bits and putting them away. x
I’ve been buying things as and when I see them and I’m not getting married until Nov next year. I’ve had the save the dates for about 4 months, and just waiting to send them. If you do it bit by bit, it doesn’t feel like you’re paying loads out all at once.
Buy the craft things now, they may not be in stock later on... and if you really want them you will regret it... and there is nothing wrong with being extra organised.
I think do things closer to the time. I’ve just booked & planned my wedding in 5 weeks - I get married in 13 days
I went to hobycraft on Saturday and had a look at the invitations I thought about getting... so glad I didn’t buy them online because they don’t look as nice in person. I’m gutted because they look so lovely online l. I did buy some pearlescent card and some stamp stuff to try and make my own save the dates to see what they will look like. I will have to keep looking but I’m sure I will find something! I hope everyone gets on well with their planning 💖
buy now its never too early im buying now and im getting married in 2021 also im not doing everyone invites so going to have mix match invites that i make some from free samples i get and some from craft items i will buy other people i will invite via facebook save on money to spend on something else
