asap can take up to six months for a shop to order the dress in your size x

If you're buying off the peg then can wait a few months but if you were hoping to order I would go asap as it can take 6 months for the dresses to arrive once ordered. Enjoy it! X

Hi I'd go early as depending on the designer it can take 6-8 months for the dress to come in and depending on the design they can take them in quite alot if necessary. If you're going to a discount place though and getting off the peg you have more time though

I’m getting married in Dec and bought my dress 2 weeks ago off the peg in a sale, but I’m at the size I want to be.
From what I’ve seen most dress shops have a sale on year round to get rid of last season sample dresses. So if you’re looking for off the peg in 12/14, then you can probs afford to wait a couple months
Alterations for a Dec wedding dress should be booked for October time btw.
Hope you find your dress!

I’m getting married in December but waiting until the summer to go dress shopping.

It's not too early, they can take dress sizes in two sizes so if you get one at the size you are now you can probably lose another 2 stone or so and it'll still fit.

March 2019 and I have had my dress almost a year!!! I'd say look soon. Some shops are up to 6 months to order in!

I bought mine in Oct 2016 and wasn’t getting married until Oct 2017. It was a small size 10 and I was a 12-14.. 2 stone later and lots of determination it was slightly roomy on the day
I’d say go shopping now and find a good seamstress they can always take it in if you find one you like that fits now and you lose weight x

Depends I'd you're buying off the rack or not. If the boutique has to order your dress in, it does take a while. I ordered mine in August and it is just ready for first fitting now

I am getting married in December. I'm not having it off the peg so my measurements were taken the 7th of April with my dress arriving the middle of September. If you aren't having an off the peg dress you will need to go soon x

I get married in December this year and went dress shopping in January as most dresses take between 6 to 8 months to be made unless buying of the rack

I bought mine over a year before getting married and I've lost 2 stone since. It also depends on the shop you find your dress in. Some have to order in and can be months I found my dream dress in a outlet shop and took it there and then

My bridesmaids and I went in January we were suppose to be getting married in August and I was told by the owner of the bridal shop if I was going to get the dress I was cutting it fine as it takes a while to make the dress x

I would start now. There is no harm in looking. If you find a dress you like, ask what the cut off point is for ordering your dress, that way you take a lot of guesswork out of the equation.

My dress took 8 months to come into the store so I would go sooner! I didn’t lose much weight so just ordered my usual size!

You need to go ASAP because dresses can take a while to be ordered then you may need to find a tailor for some alterations if you lose weight.

Depends on where you are buying from. I ordered different dresses in my current size online to be delivered home. I too am trying to lose weight & if needs be it can be altered easily.. if you're going to a bridal shop (appointments are needed at most) then the alterations can vary in time & COST dramatically. Some can charge the same for altering as the price of the dress. Check online 'for sale sites' there are loads to be had there & for something to be worn once, will save a small fortune

I got my dress in a sale off the peg. It was too small for me but perfect and the last one of its kind as it has been discontinued. I knew it would be fine though as it gives me motivation to lose weight and it can be altered. The lady in the bridal couture shop I bought it from said to book alterations a few months before the wedding. But I would say definitely look now. Try tracking how your weight loss has gone so far and try to predict what size you will be when you get married. Aim for that but remember, your weight will level out once you reach your healthy limit. Congrats and good luck on the dress hunt x
