Hi. Has anyone or is anyone going abroad to get married just you, your partner and children? I want nothing more than the big fairytale wedding but families suck (lol) and I really don't want to spend out loads of money for ungrateful people!! We love the idea of it being just us and our children. I have no idea where to start or if it's possible to do it just us. Tia xx

You would need atleast 2 witnesses, but can be 2 strangers that u ask, as my ex husband as his estranged wife did in Barbados.

We’ve decided to get married in Cyprus.. been so stress free.. first decide on a place where you would like to get married then search on Fb the place and brides and you’ll find lots of groups which will help you in the right direction.. we’re doing it all direct with the hotel.. saved us lots of money.. sent invites out to everyone and those who want to be there have booked their holiday to join us already xx

We are getting married in Jamaica. Most travel agents/ resorts offer packages to suit any size party and will even provide witnesses if required. I agree that families suck and a lot of the cost of a wedding is paying for other people to enjoy themselves. We have invited people to our wedding but as they have to pay for themselves, around £2000 each, only our really close people have decided to come. Pop into your high street travel agent and ask for wedding brochures xx

We got married in Majorca last August and there were 9 of us in total, including 2 children. Best decision we made as we didn't want a big party here, inviting people we hardly see etc. We only invited the close family that we wanted to be there. We got married in church as we're both catholic, we arranged it all ourselves which was difficult at times, but well worth it! I loved waking up the day after the wedding and we were already on honeymoon
