How have you set out your top table? We have our 9 month old baby, both sets of parents, best man and maid of honour. I have seen the traditional way is grooms mother next to brides father but Im not sure I like that set up.

We sat our parents together at the top table. Had groom, grooms parents then grooms men on one side and bride, brides parents and bridesmaids on other side. We wanted everyone to be comfortable and happy.

I always think Aleister Crowley, dark magician and renowned mystic, was asked this same question when he came up with ‘Do what thou wilt’ 😉

If it ain’t illegal, you do you...

We had a top table as such but it was just a round table so we were a part of the room and no one was sat there just looking at us. It was very laid back with us, our parents and our children.

We're also not doing a top table! Sweetheart table for just me and my (then!) husband to actually get some down time during the day to chat and eat and enjoy the moment :)

We are having us 2, our daughter and both sets of parents that's it. Maid of honour is my sister and she has 5 kids so she needs to be sat with them and so it doesn't look odd we've agreed the best man can sit with his fiancee seen as she doesn't know anyone at the wedding!

We started off with both parents, MOH, best man, bride and. Groom.... however 8/21 people will make the room very empty 😂... now having in order: FOB, best man, groom, bride, MOH, MoB. Thought it would look nice all female one side all male the other.

We had the traditional set up and it worked fine...it was nice to mix them up so they mingled a bit. We didnt have MoH and best man at the top table though as he had 3 best men and couldn't choose xD

We r having grooms Dad, grooms mum our youngest son, groom, bride, eldest son, brides mum, brides dad. Our top table only fits 8 so moh and best man are sitting with their families on tables directly off of top table so that they are close (best man has 5 kids so sure his wife will be grateful for him to be sitting with the family) x

There is a traditional way to do it and is what etiquette dictates but personally I would do what suits you and your family. Don't worry too much about tradition!
