Im getting married next July and hoping for a lovely summers day. I was thinking about flowers and what colours to go for. I quite like a white bouquet but I need some ideas on the type of flowers and colours anyone would recommend, I haven’t got much knowledge on the subject yet but my flower appointment is fast approaching. Also what are the essential flowers for the big day and what are nice added extras for decoration? I’ve had a look online but there’s so many different ideas and opinions online. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm having a mix of white and purples. Once I decided on colours I googled bouquets In these. If you then find a few you like you can show them to the florist and hopefully she will add few ideas

What colour is your theme? Mine was Cadbury purple but I mixed up purple flowers with sunflowers as it was spring time. Worth checking what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding, as this can bring the price down dramatically and give you inspiration 😊

I didn’t know anything about flowers. But my florist kind of took the lead and I told her the look I was going for and she offered up suggestions. If you’ve got a florist I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They’ll give you lots of advice I’m sure x

I knew nothing! I knew I wanted seasonal flowers. Then took along pictures from interest of bouquets I liked for myself and my girls and pics of buttonholes and pics of centrepieces I liked then we took it from there. Don't worry too much just take pics of what you like. Also if you can find a picture of your dress and your bridesmaids that will help them too just enjoy! X

I would agree its worth checking what is in season, do you have your colours already? You can search for different flowers in those colour schemes as well. If you have a good florist they will also be able to give you lots of suggestions

Your florist should have all the knowledge you need for flowers and what will be in season. Unless there are specific flowers you want included then I'd go with whatever's seasonal and which will fit with any theme you have. Also, take plenty of pictures in as this really helps the florist gauge your style and your likes so they can come up with perfect arrangements for you. If they're good they will likely have a portfolio or be able to show you examples of flowers in the shop to help you visualise. Don't worry - you don't need to be an expert!

I recommend investing in some floral magazines and going through with post it notes marking the ones you like most!

I get married this July and met with a florist... I'm having all white flowers there's alot of different shade of white believe it or not, with lots of different textures. My colour theme is champagne and cornflower blue, we've had all bridesmaids boquets direct family button holes and one big table spray for the top table.. All out guest tables have a bowl with real fish in as centrepieces xx

I’m also getting married next July. We are going with a light pink/white theme. I wanted a mostly white bouquet. The florist suggested what flowers would work for the colours we wanted and also for the time of year we are getting married. They should be able to give you some ideas too xx
