What is a good breakfast for the wedding day? I dont want to bloat, but know I will need something substantial to help with a nervous tummy :)
Hi Have whatever you want :)
I am thinking pancakes & strawberries... or full english baguette to tide me over.. Not getting married til 4pm. So can have lunch too...
Depending where I end up staying the night before, I'd love pigs in blankets as they are my absolute favourite! I always have them birthday (I'm a Dec baby) and Christmas too.
Is there something that is your favourite you HAVE to have on special occasions? X
Maybe 2-3 smaller options spaced out during the morning? Rather than having one large breakfast.
I want a bbq
I had eggs Benedict and fruit juice in the hotel, not too heavy and just enough
I was so excited i just about managed 2 crumpets! And I was 6 months pregnant! Couldn't eat at all all day! Xx
Scrambled eggs on toast
No white carbs. Eggs & salmon or bacon. Fruit & yogurt. Definitely no bread
I'm planning on cereal and a yoghurt. My wedding is at 11am so needs to be quick so I can get ready lol.
If you know what foods bloat you just avoid them and have whatever else you fancy x
Ill probably have a full english :) nothing puts my appetite off 😂😂
Champagne 🥂
I'm planning on having a fruit platter to nibble on with the girls along with a glass of fizz.
Probably depends what time of day you’re getting married, but I would go for a little breakfast early (pancakes or cereal etc.) and then something snackyish just beforehand to avoid tummy rumbles in the middle of vows 😂🙄
Eggs Benedict is a lush breakfast, enough to keep you going but not a monster meal
I'm planning on croisant, and scrambled egg. It should be enough to fill me, but not too much so I bloat (and it goes great with bucks fizz too!) Good luck! X
It will be a toss up between, French baguette with marmite and dairylea or bagels with creme cheese!!
Ooo great question!! I have the same dilemma !!! I absolutely 100% bloat whenever I eat and I want to look as slim as possible for the ceremony and pictures.. were getting married around 1ish so I need to be really careful but on the other hand want to eat everything I love on my special day... However the things I adore are pastries/poached egg/or even pancakes .... All things that I worry would make me balloon. Will be watching this post to see any good ideas . If I was truly being helpful I would have suggested cereals or something long lasting like porridge but it does depend on your own body. I'm sorry I've been useless lol let me know you find out any tricks x
Probably a bacon butty for me.
I will probably have scrambled eggs, and will take some pastries/cereal bars to nibble on while we get ready.
I was at the hotel but when it came to it I couldn’t stomach anything (nerves hit me that morning despite being calm the whole lead up) I ended up eating a tiny croissant and half an apple
I’m my head I want full fry up... but in reality something like fruit and a yoghurt is probably more likely
I'll be having salmon and scrambled eggs on toast it's one of my favourites and not too heavy x
Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast c
Small bowl of porridge. You can add honey or syrup or cinnamon or fruit or Nutella or anything you want or keep it plain. But the complex carbohydrates will give you energy and help to settle your stomach without bloating (as long as you don't have a huuuge bowl).
Sausage and egg butty
I wanted scrambled egg, but ended up having nothing but juice lol.I suppose it depends on the time you are getting married.Something small and light maybe if it's before lunch time x
Porridge probably with honey as it’ll survive me all day though not getting married till 4.30pm so will probably need something at lunch too maybe an egg white omelette?
Knowing me I probably would be to nervous to eat and won’t eat then be absolutely starving afterwards haha x
Poached eggs and smoked salmon
I'll be having brown toast and banana for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch weddings at 3pm
60 cocktail sausages in the Actifry...minimum fuss but maximum pleasure 🤗
I don't think you can go far wrong with something like Greek yogurt, fruit and some granola x
Fruit :)
Porridge will fill you up x
Weetabix!!
This article has several healthy breakfast options for the morning of your wedding! https://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-planning/organising-and-planning/breakfast-ideas-for-the-morning-of-your-wedding_956.htm
Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, grilled tomatoes and some spinach
Don't worry about bloating! You'll be nervous and preoccupied and will need sustenance - trust me, if you're hungry because all you've eaten is fruit you'll lose concentration and feel worse than if you eat something sensible or even a treat and feel a bit bloated. If you're bloated but not hungry you will have a much better time and food helps balance out your hormones which will help you manage your day better. If the bloating seriously worries you, maybe spend some time looking at your diet and eat different foods on the lead up to the wedding? The most important thing is that you're in the best frame of your mind and the easiest way to do that is to make sure you eat something proper. Encourage your appetite by choosing it in advance and looking forward to the special food as part of the special day! Something that is a treat will help but make sure it's got lots of fibre and protein in it (they'll help keep you fuller for longer). I'm definitely eating my favourite breakfast on the day, if I can't manage all of it, at least I've tried!
Breakfasts muffins egg sausage bacon and tomato in a calorie light sprayed muffin tin in the oven 10 mins. There are loads of recipes when you Google breakfast muffins.
I had a fry up - no bloating. Good energy!
Something high-protein seems to be a favourite at the moment then :)
I was so nervous/excited I didn't feel like eating, but one of my bridesmaids kept subtly feeding me peanut butter and banana on toast forever grateful for her doing that!
Haha that sounds like a top bridesmaid to me!
I'm going to do a little spread like this. But with a glass of bucks fizz to really feel bridey=)
I had Harvest Crunch with single cream and a sliced mango on top & a glass of Bucks Fizz! It was 38yrs ago though (thoroughly enjoyed it!)
I’m going to have something very light just to stop the grumbling lol but I’m also getting flapjacks & energy boost bars to keep close so I can a nibble before the meal x
Either eggs or gluten free oats are good..if you can stomach eating anything on the day! Pretty sure I will be too excited to eat...coffee will be my saviour! 😊 xx
