Found our Venue, I'm in love with it!! But now to pick colour schemes, how hard is it! How did you pick your colours for bridesmaids and incorporate the colours throughout your wedding?
We both simply chose a colour we liked and have bought some ribbon in it. It will be used in the invites and centrepieces and will be the main colour on the bridesmaids dress. The men are wearing blue suits but a darker shade otherwise it would be too much. We might add a second colour to break it up :)
I chose my favourite colour (grey) then my h2b suggested another colour to go with it (navy blue) and we’ve gone from there, bridesmaids are in grey and best man and ushers in blue, same with flower girl and page boy, sashes for chairs or gonna be grey and blue on different tables, cake decorations are gonna go from grey then fade into blue, and our theme is Minnie Mouse and captain America (marvel) mine and my h2b favourite things so we’re gonna add them in to so it’s not to much grey and blue, all works really well together 🙂
My dad who died suddenly just before xmas picked ours. We are red and navy blue, we get married in July this year. It is important to me that we involve both pur dads who died x
I decided I wanted dried lavender and built from that.
We picked a theme, Autumn as getting married in October, and just stuck to colours associated with that season.
My partner is wearing a kilt as are groomsmen so we choose red and silver as those are in his kilt colours, the bridesmaids will be wearing red x
My husband wore a kilt for our wedding, I looked at the kilt he wanted and chose a colour that went through the kilt. So I ended up with lilac as the main colour (bridesmaids and the ushers ties were lilac). Then I coded Ivory to comptent it. It Worked really well I thought. Xx
I let my HTB choose
We also chose based on my husband’s kilt so had cobalt blue. It looked stunning on the bridesmaids and we accented it with antique gold on our invites and on the cake/around the venue x
I'm having mint green and a grey colour, I think they look really lovely together. It's really upto u hun what colour u pick. My colours just jumped out to me. I'm sure whatever u pick will look gorgeous. X
I got my colours done with Colour Me Beautiful before we started looking at venues, that way I could pick colours that suit me! But I think some venues lend themselves to particular styles and colours. I only have one bridesmaid so ideally I'm going to go for colours that don't look terrible on her either! You can google 'wedding palette colours' and click 'images' to get an idea of what colours go together.
We are having my favourite colour blue and silver x bridesmaids are wearing blue x
we choose pastel rainbow as i loved the idea we had the groomsmen in same suits but different coloured ties and bridsmaids wore same dress but different coloured we then made certrepieces etc to match
I picked my favourite colour which is purple. Seems we’re getting married in summer thought lilac was probably the best shade and our venue lends its self to a very rustic theme so have paired it with hessian and lace. Bridesmaid dresses will be lilac as well as accents of invites and centrepieces with hessian and lace making up the rest xxx
My dress changed our colour theme entirely, as I went for an oyster colour which didn't suit the rest of the colour theme I'd originally thought of (we went from hot pink colour to a vintage glamour theme).
everything fell into place colourwise once we'd changed it as we saw things that would fit in the theme, so rather than have just one colour it was more of a spectrum of colours to suit the look we wanted, which also suited the venue :)
Our colour scheme is purple but we couldn't find purple bm dresses, we chose grey to match the groomsmen suits
We picked lilac because my H2B had a lilac shirt & i always think he looks really handsome in it
We are having my favourite colour, Cadbury purple and we've decided to go with silver as a secondary colour x.
Mine was simple I knew instantly I wanted baby pink and white my brides maids will be baby pink I'll have white my favours baby pink boxes my flowers same white or pink and centre pieces white or pink x
My colour scheme is revolving around my dress as it's described as honey in colour so think bridesmaides will be in a nude/champagne like colour x
I love the pinks and Hessian but it was just not me. I liked red so have red flowers and shoes and my bridesmaids are in aqua blue. They go lovely together very vibrant and fun and chair sashes and table bits are a mixture of both colours. H2b has red tie and best man etc have the aqua to match bridemaids. Pinterest great for finding out what colours go together well x
We choose colours that compliment our wedding venue's beautiful gardens. Also we have a theme and tied the main colour in with that too xx
Husbands tartan is Gunn so we picked the dark green and red out of that as our colours. I've always liked red and green together anyway. Bridesmaids picked what colour dresses they wanted (two had green velvet , one had red velvet). Invites and cake had forest green, burgundy red and gold. Flowers were shades of red, plenty of foliage, berries, babies breath. Groom and best man had cravats made out of the same green velvet material as the bridesmaid dress. My hair is usually dyed red so fitted well :p Our venue was an underground vault with deep rich colours so I think it went OK. Can't say I picked the colours based on the venue. Didn't dress the chairs as they were gold and red already.
We had an August wedding so wanted a nice summer colour. We went with aqua marine. The bridesmaids wore that colour and we incorporated shades of that colour in the buttonholes, favours and bouquets and the groom and best men had ties to match.
We’re having an August wedding and knew I wanted fushia/cerise pink gerberas. Just went with a dusky pink and cream to match. X
We didn’t bother with a colour scheme. Means you aren’t tied to particular colours. We ended up with one kind of by accident but we didn’t go into it thinking these are definitely the colours we are having.
Agree with Jody Marie have a good look through wedding colour schemes. At the same point you are venue booked, looking at getting organised. Bit of a nightmare though can't seem to find Bm dresses in the colour i like
We had pastel colours as we got married in spring. My bridesmaids each had a different coloured dress which we then matched with the groomsmen's cravats. We had home made pastel coloured bunting all around the venue with white flowers and birdcages for centre pieces. Xx
We are having baby pink, white and grey. The groomsmen will be in grey suits with pink ties to match the bridesmaids who will be in pink dresses. The bouquets will be a mix of white and pink and the groomsmen are having white buttonholes. And I think the bridesmaids will have light grey shoes. Just choose colours you like and that will work well together :) good luck x
If you have a favourite colour, then that can be a great place to start. You can use sites like Pinterest or Adobe Color to find other colours or tones that complement it. You colours can be used on everything from the bridesmaides' dresses to your cake. If you are going for a more neutral look, sometimes less is more. Use a brighter colour in a less obvious place - like your shoes!
I decided initially I loved blush pink but then my MOH said she didn’t look good in it as too washed out? So I went with navy blue too so she’ll wear that & so will my OH etc..my younger bridesmaids are wearing blush pink & were bringing it all together with rose gold!!
Liverpool red my h2b is so happy with our theme x
We chose it based on the flowers we want
We are having silver dresses for our bridesmaids as we are having a winter wedding.
