Hi ladies looking for advice/ tips on a wedding in a hurry we have just been given the devastating news that my Oh’s grandfather who has been a major part of his life, is terminally ill and only has months to live, I have been thinking about getting married ASAP so he can be there. I already have my dress just wonder if anyone else has been in a similar situation and how they went about arranging etc thanks xx

We arranged our wedding in 3 months. Married at a registry office, reception at a local hotel. An amazing day x

Similar situation. We're getting married at a registry office and then going to a local rugby club. We're doing it all up as well so the place will be unrecognisable. You can do it 💪 xxx best of luck xxx

We arranged our wedding in 3 weeks over 30 years ago (now it’s my daughter’s soon). All you need is someone to marry you and your loved ones. Try Facebook marketplace for local photographers etc if you want one and can easily order cake/flowers from M&S wedding section if you want them. Venues don’t really need months of notice - if they have your date free it’s fine. It’s what they do. Honestly no one cares if your table centres are non existent or whatever. But having memories of grandfather being there will last a lifetime. Best wishes xxx

I'm in the same boat right now.im handmakeing so much of my wedding to save a lot of time designing and ordering.we are lucky with our venue as they are helping us out with all the table centres and chaircovers/sashes etc.we booked our whole wedding in a hotel..they are pretty good with short notice bookings.the best advice I got given was just don't panic..if ur calm u will be surprised by what u can get done..good luck

Could you maybe get married at a register office and have him there as a witness and a small close ceremony for family, then maybe in a couple of years if you wanted a church have a blessing and have family and friends there, we chose to get married August this year as my grandma only had limited time left but unfortunately things took a turn for the worst in January and she passed so we have pushed the wedding back now due to losing her and us being pregnant hope this helps xx

Ive just seen this.. lots of venues do late package deals for remaining dates this year that include ceremony / food / drinks etc so have a look there.
I have some discounts on remaining dates for photography if you wanted to chat. - Georgina Balmer Photography
Lots of things can be done cheaper by being handmade etc, you two being there and being in love is what the day is about.. you can do it xx

Was in the same situation with my dad. We had about 2 months to organise it. Our wedding was at a registrars and then at a barn for reception.. if you are close to Newbury I would highly recommend where we had ours!

All our decorations and invites I had made which saved us money. Don’t be afraid to explain your situation to people and they are very understanding and will try to help as much as they can to make this day perfect for you all xx
