Hi fellow brides to be, bridesmaids, grooms etc etc. Am looking for entertainment ideas for our evening reception. We have the standard disco, a sweet table and a photo corner and some board games to dot around but keep having nightmares everyone will be bored. Has anyone done anything a bit quirky/different for evening fun? Thanks

We had a 1920's theme for our wedding and hired some dancers to take over our 1st dance. They then got the guests to take part and got them to learn a mini dance. Went down very well!

That honestly sounds like enough. We had a few mini connect 4 games on tables, photo props and DJ and everyone was fine We were supposed to have sparklers when it got dark but it rained...didn't matter one bit!

I’ve got photo mirror, candy floss, popcorn, chocolate kebab and a balloon artist for 2 hours for the kids. Also a surprise but can’t put on here what as I don’t want everyone to know. If you’d like to know then please inbox me.

I fail to understand why people would be bored and people feel they must put on so much 'entertainment'. Surely food, drink, music, dancing and conversation should be enough?

We have considered a magician but simply cannot afford one. It would be relaxed magic, going round tables doing card tricks etc

We’ve booked a roulette table for the bit in between the day and the evening as been told there’s usually a lull. We’re giving a prize. Xx

Not having anything. Been to loads of weddings that haven't had anything entertainment wise except a DJ and there's never been an issue with people getting bored.

We havd a swing band booked to perform 3 sets across the evening and manage a playlist in between. There are board games in the hotel bar. But other than that we don't plan to do anything else.

I’m having the same but thinking of having the silver service singing waiters as well I’ve checked out there website an they look really good, I think it’s £1280 for 2 people an that’s to serve ( to make it more believable) after speeches they come in and do their piece, an they get everyone up dancing. Looks so much fun.
Was also thinking of having a casino bit but not sure.

Are you having any children at your wedding? As I am an do they don’t get bored I’m giving them a bag each with goodies in. Plus a corner of the room for them which will have a few tables with Lego, cars, dolls, bubbles an colouring in plus a tent with colour matching faux fur throw and cushions for them to sit on. As I don’t want the kids to get bored as they will then moan at their parents that they want to go home an then the parents won’t have fun and then will leave early.
I hope this helps xx

I got married last year in May. We had garden games (coconut shy, hook a duck, tin can alley etc) during the day so guests could play while we had photos taken after the ceremony, then after the sit down meal we had a photo booth, disco and karaoke, (we love karaoke!) Sweet cart and popcorn machine and a fun casino. It was brilliant. The guests had plenty to do and it took the strain off us a bit.... we could enjoy the day knowing that we didn't have to go around making sure everyone was having a good time. It really depends on your venue though. We had the whole place to ourselves, it had four main areas, so we put things in each one. Hope this helps xx
