Hi everyone! I was hoping someone could help us. We've been engaged for something like 5 years now and 2 kids later we've decided to finally get married next year (it will be 10 years together next year). My problem is we are only having a really small day for about 23 people (made up of 19 adults and 4 kids), and we want it to be somewhere nice, maybe a bit rustic, and very relaxed, hopefully in Shropshire but we dont want to be paying like £5000 for 23 people! Maybe I'm being unreasonable but I think thats alot of money for such a small number. We dont need exclusive use of a whole venue nor do we need accomadation. We have looked at somewhere that does a tipi wedding which looks great but just hoping someone has a good idea really? Thanks in advance!!!!
Hi. My sister had a small wedding. Registry office then a small old pub (upstairs) for the reception and it was really lovely x
Hi I’ve got my wedding for 50 at £2000 with venue and food/drinks included it can be done xx
We got married at the valley hotel in Ironbridge. I believe they cater for all sized weddings and have different sized rooms to use. Food was lovely and had photos taken at the bridge.
Hiring a small restaurant for the day/evening would work out much more affordable
Park Hall hotel, hundred house, old vicarage, punch bowl, mytton &mermaid, albrighton Hall.....try these around Bridgnorth xx
I have 21 8 kids and rest of adults we r getting married in town hall and the bar restaurant 3 course meal £30 per head
What about Wistanstow village hall. It was in an article on rock my wedding x
This is our problem to the point we are seriously consid3ring a destination wedding and get a holiday out of it while were paying them prices xxx
Groupon do wedding packages - not used this myself but with a bit of research and a few questions some of the prices look amazing - you could negotiate for 23 people if it is fixed at 50 guests see if the hotel can give you something in place of the 27 meals!
Have you tried Ludlow Castle. They cater for small weddings too. We went and had a look around as ours is a v small wedding (15 guests). We changed our mind in the end and decided on a church then lunch in a local pub..they are letting us have the smaller restaurant exclusively at no cost from 1 until 6, we are just paying for the meal and alcohol. No evening reception just everyone gathering in the pub for the evening ( a handful plus bride and groom are staying over at the pub). Church and meal will cost us no more than £1200 so definitely no need to spend thousands x
Shrewsbury castle do small ceremonies (and it’s cheap to get married there), then find a restaurant/bar/pub with a private room that can do the catering
This is of no help, but we're getting married in Ireland next year with 80 guests for £2200, and that includes our bridal suite, Rolls Royce hire for the day, sparkling wine, shortbread and tea/coffee for all guests on arrival, sparking wine for the toast, a four course meal with multiple options and an evening buffet!!! £5000 is a ludicrous price for such a small number of people - keep shopping around and don't be scared to negotiate!
I went to a wedding once where they hired a working men’s club and ordered fish and chips for everyone from the local chip shop (and pizza for those who didn’t eat fish) it was really nice and relaxed, and everyone enjoyed themselves without spending a fortune. Doesn’t have to be a WMC, but maybe a pub with a venue room etc
Check out bridebook they have cheap venues . https://bridebook.co.uk/
Have you had a look at the wroxeter? - it could be the tipi venue that you’re talking about but I photograph there a lot and they have some discounted packages for certain dates etc that may be of use to you? I also photographed at Leighton hall for a wedding party of 25.. they had canapés & champagne outside then a meal inside and was beautiful! Xx
They cley windmill in Norfolk is brilliant. We only want a small wedding & the staff have been so helpful so far.
