Get started as soon as you like. That sounds similar to a package at one of the venues I looked at in stanley durham.

If you mean when you should actually be doing things, we sent save the dates out a year before and invites 6 months before! I wouldn’t buy a dress 2 years in advance either but thats my personal opinion xxx

I’ll be getting married March/April 2020 and as soon as we have a venue booked I will be starting to organise stuff, my sister bought her dress 2 years in advance before she even had her venue booked, as long as you have dress fittings there’s no issue xx

I am getting married in the first week of September 2020 too, we’ve booked our church and our wedding reception venue already. Start getting quotes now and ask if you pay a deposit will they secure the price and the date, hope this helps

I'm getting married August 2020 and got the ball rolling now. Got invites ready to send as it's abroad so gives time for people time to save if they wish to join us. Deposit down on my dress, brides maid dresses on hold online, just doing the little things now ready for the right time to book everything after hunting around. Is that figure you gave for a stay in a hotel also or are you paying for a holiday stay on top of your actual wedding?

We are getting married at the end of Nov 2020, we have already booked our venue (which also comes with everything that we wanted on our wedding day) and will hopefully have it paid off by this time next year. But other than that we haven’t done much else. I’m trying my hand at making a lot of things myself e.g. flowers, invitations etc... I’m dying to go dress shopping but feel I should wait until after Christmas (see if I can get a wee bargain) lol! Personally I think you should get planning now and do what you can now! It’s super exciting lol good luck xx

We are getting married September 2020 too. We have booked everything from the church/reception venue, cake, photographer, dj, etc. I'm going to start looking at dresses middle to end of next year. I was told it can take up to 5 months for your dress to come in once ordered so will probably order In the Jan of 2020. You can never be too organised

We are getting married August 29th 2020 we have our venue booked and have a folder that we have written everything that needs to be done. We are visiting several people with regards to makeup, photography and invites etc...... making notes of what they offer and prices so we can get the best options. Same goes for dresses and suits. Starrt when you are ready, it’s never too early x

I am also getting married the first week of September 2020. I was advised to start looking for my dress in December. I have loads of notes and to do lists and in the process of finishing off my scrapbook. It's never to early to get organised.

I’d buy your dress in August/September 2019... they will have the styles in stock which are suitable for that time of year. Send the Saves the dates 1 year before... don’t do too much too early as you want to save something’s until closer to the time so you can enjoy planning the wedding & get excited for it. We get married January 2019, I’ve just bought my dress - I already feel like 10 months is to long to get to wear it

If I could give you any advice it would be to start planning ASAP you can never be to organised and just think if your all planned and paid you can rest and not stress until the big day 🌼

I'm getting married March 2020 have the church booked bit that's it so far, going to see some venues in next few weeks and been looking at colours ect but I can not decide! How do you decide on your colour theme and not change your mind for 2 years!? Xx

Gemma Barrington
Gemma Barrington 3 Mar 2018

Wow that’s an amazing price for all of that! I wouldn’t start dress shopping until a year to 9 months before as body shape may change or you may change your mind. I’d start thinking about colour schemes, who you want in your bridal party and things. You’ve got plenty of time. Invites don’t need to go out until abou 6 months before.
