Hi I’m getting married in October 2019 . I’m terrified to go dress shopping since having my 2 sons, there’s 18 months between them ???? my body’s completely changed and I’ve put weight Ect. Im a total dress phobic, like I’ve Always though that dresses are for skinny pretty woman and not me. So I’m totally out of my comfort zone here. What I’m trying to say is will there be any dresses for a plus size bride to try on and will anything suit me. So scared to even go near a dress shop. Btw I’m a size 20/22 in jeans and pear shaped figure 5ft11. I love the look of the tea length dresses since we are having a small casual wedding just 40 guests all family only.

Check on-line for plus size wedding dress suppliers. It think there is one called curvey brides. Also, I bought mine from Debenhams online so that I could try on at home and send back if I didn't like it but it was exactly what I wanted.

There are shops for curvier brides so you won’t feel like none of the dresses are right for you. The beauty of wedding dresses is there are so many and they are all tailored and designed to make you look your best. Don’t worry you will look beautiful and don’t let your body worries ruin your day. Your hubby to be married you for the person you are and I’m sure he will think you are at your most beautiful on your big day xx

I’m going for tea length too but I tried other gowns on just for fun, I’m plus size & was pleasantly surprised by the lace up gowns they hide a ton of sins!

I bought my dress today in a 22 and I had loads of choice! Went to two boutiques and WED2B and had the most wonderful time! I was the same as you, I’ve been putting shopping off more and more but honestly, I came away with a beautiful dress that I feel fabulous in! Xx

I’m a size 22, am getting a corset dress, makes me feel amazing and my waist looks so small.. look up wedding dress shops that stock dresses designed for curvy brides such as calista or Phoenix plus.. have fun..

You can be a size 8 or a size 28 and everyone has bits of their body they don't like. I found most wedding dresses I tried on are quite structured so actually look much better on than a normal dress. Go for it! You will know when you find one that is right. X

You will look a million dollars on your big day. Try on a few different styles and you will soon know what you will be most comfortable in. You may even be surprised that a dress you thought may not suit you is the one and makes you feel like a princess. Enjoy the experience and make it one to remember. There is the perfect dress out there for everyone xxx

Relax, you've got loads of time! Take your time, visit dress shops and try things on to figure out what you like and what suits you. There is no obligation to buy something there and then. The more you see yourself in a dress, the more comfortable you will feel about it. Take a good, honest friend with you for moral support and advice. And don’t feel rushed into making a decision yet, you’ve got acres of time. Anyway, dresses come in all shapes and sizes, just like brides do.

Hi I have 2 daughter's 15 months apart both c-section babies and a size 20-22. I went dress shopping 6 weeks after I had our last daughter. The dresses I tried on we're to small for me but I wanted one with a corset back so didn't look to bad. I tried on 4 dresses in total went back to the first one as I just fell in love with it. Hope you get the dress of your dreams and have a lovely experience as I believe every bride to be should and congratulations xx

I'm a similar size to you (slightly bigger) and I went here. Cannot recommend them enough - I had no idea about what would suit me so they went through all the shapes, worked out what worked on me, and then let me hit the rails with my new knowledge. Found the most amazing dress, and I felt fantastic on the day. Reasonable prices too http://www.heavenlybodiesbridal.com/

Not sure whereabouts your from but there’s an amazing bridal outlet in Ashton-under-Lyne, manchester. It’s a family run shop and the woman is an amazing dress maker. She can make whatever you want to suit your shape. I’m getting mine from there and she is so reasonably priced. I’m getting my dress (£1500 dress elsewhere), veil and all my alterations including the back turned from corset to buttons for £730. Her name is Victoria Rogerson and people come from overseas to her shop. Xx

I would highly recommend corseted dress! I'm a size 18-20 and i feel amazing in mine. Pulls me in, in all the right places.
Wed2b do gorgeous dresses for curvy brides as well. I've always been self conscious about my size but they made me feel brilliant there. Best of luck finding your dream dress. Don't let your size stop you from enjoying the experience. I'm sure you'll look incredible xx

I was exactly like you! I looked around a few shops- with what I saw to be the more commercial shops stocking less larger dresses sizes to try on- the image of them trying to fit me into a size 10 (18/20 at the time). Try a more local shop or wed to be :) you will find the right dress, but don’t be afraid to try one your never think would suit you! I have started to loose weight through Sw (even online or group if you can) and would totally recommend doing it for a little and your confidence will grown to try on dresses! Take one person who is supportive but you aren’t embarrassed to giggle with if the dress doesn’t suit you! Good luck :)

Tea length dresses look awesome on curvier figures and there are loads of companies that do tealength online. I used to be bigger than I am now- bigger than the size you say you are and this kind of a line, 50s silhouette is really flattering!

I am also getting married in Oct 2019 :) I haven't even started looking at dresses yet. I also have two very young children 21 months apart. I only have a stone to lose, but I definitely feel different. I'm hoping I will lose it before the wedding. You will look great what ever size your wedding dress is :) x

Hi, where are you based? If you're anywhere near Portsmouth pop in and see Creatiques. I found my dress there and they had an amazing range of dresses in plus sizes...i'm a size 20. I also had a couple of bad dress shop experiences but the team at Creatiques really made me feel at ease. Once I was over the shock of the first dress I felt much more comfortable.

I'm a 16/18 and got my wedding dress from Lindy Bop. I went for a cream polkadot tea dress and added peach and pale blue accessories, including a blue petticoat to go underneath. I felt like curvy Audrey Hepburn and utterly fabulous!

If you or anyone else on here is a plus size and fancies a trip up to the North East, I can’t recommend Just the way you are enough. It’s a fantastic feeling knowing that every dress you try on will fit (most important!!) and will flatter your fuller figure. Best experience I could have ever had and I dreaded it so much. And Sophie is just an angel.
