So my wedding is in 2020 but I have done most of the planning already, however I am struggling with transport, the H2B would like a Rolls Royce but i also have 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen to consider if i pay for a limo etc to get them from the ceremony to the reception venue am I obligated to pay for their transport back home after the reception or even back to my house as some would have left their cars there? any advice?

It's very generous that you intend to pay for the transport to the venue! I guess if I could afford to I also would - we're just going to be jumping into each others cars and making our way there. I would say that if you want to pay for the transport to the venue then that is already very nice of you! I wouldn't say you should have to pay for their way back home after though, I would say it would be up to them.

I also agree with Tania, however if your wedding is quite far away from peoples homes then you could get a mini bus/coach which arrives at a particular time at the end of the evening; this can drop them all off at one location. Ask how many of your guests would use this option at the end of the night so you can save on costs & they can plan ahead for when they are dropped off at the location! (Sorry if I’ve rambled haha)

Would it be cheaper to book then accommodation at your venue (if possible) then they could get ready and have photos before the wedding with your photographer

I’ve never known anybody to arrange transport home again for the bridesmaids & groomsmen after the wedding is over - they generally want to leave with their own partners x

I had five bridesmaids to get to church plus myself two nans and my mum but I wanted the special car just for me and my mum and my nans (might be selfish but I don’t think so) and asked my maid of honour if her husband wouldn’t mind taking the bridesmaids, he put a ribbon on the car aswell.

In the end the car I chose wasn’t working on the day so the next biggest one came but couldn’t fit me and the other three people intended but still special nonetheless x

A friend of mine hired an old fashioned double decker bus that took guests and bridesmaids etc from the church to the reception venue.

I’m getting married in Aug 2019 we have organised transport for so many guests from the ceremony to reception because I wanted something different and have hired a vintage bus. But our guests are organising own transport home at end of evening

Normally bridesmaids get ready with you and arrive with you while groomsmen make their own way there. Everyone bar you and partner make own way home 🙂

Hope they helps?
