Hi brides. I’m stuck on wedding favours ? Are the a must ? I got a few ideas in mind but I’m abit unsure. Would anyone want to share their ideas / opinions on them .
These are mine. They're from eBay. Write in candle favours and loads come up xx
We decided not to do favours as we are having a sweet table & photobooth, to me these are a favour really, something the guests can enjoy aswell as have a keepsake if they want too x
I am giving my adult guests chocolates and the children sweet cones
We’re having biscuits made by our cake maker which also double up as a place setting with their names. We are also having a seaside sweet table.
My cousin is making ours as our wedding present and they will be a surprise until the day
We made raspberry vodka and bottled it up ourselves and put a little gift tag on and mini jars of sweets for all the kids everyone seemed to enjoy it and we weren’t left with anything left after the wedding so at least guests took them x
Our favours are also our place setting. Personalised magnet in our theme x
We didn't have favours as such as we had seen them get left behind at other weddings. So we made a donation to a charity close to our hearts and wrote a poem to explain this to guests, which we put in the menu booklet on each table. We did have a sweet cart though x
Was going to do a sweet table. Did candy canes and a sprig of white heather (tradition on my mother's side of the family).
My husband proposed with a Haribo ring so that's what we gave as favours! 5 each in a lovely little wicker bag!
We had hand decorated personalised candles and a sweet bag for our candy cart. Candles only cost about 80p each, such a bargain. X
We are having charity pins. Half and half for charities that are close to both of our hearts
We aren't doing favours
We have done personalised chocolate and mini love hearts and 5 sugared almonds in a favour box in the shape of a brides dress for the girls and grooms suit for the boys 😊 also got a sweet table 😊 x
my partner & I are doing biscuits xx
We have ferrero rocher in boxes for the adults and candy for the children. Nothing extravagant but just a thank you for coming x
I was going to make hot chocolate spoons, they’re great and not expensive to make but I ended up getting heart shaped jelly beans, chocolates and smarties and a scratch card each
We had small personalised bottles of prosecco x
I have little organza vags in my colours and the same colour wrapped chicolate hearts all off ebay and loads of colours to choose from. Im on a tight buget so it couldnt be too fancy. Traditionally its sugared almonds that are given because almonds help with fertility and it was to send good wishes in irder for the bride and groom to be blessed with children x
Waste of money we donated to charity of our choice and guests thought it was a great idea. We put loads of home made tablet on the tables in small bags and couldn't get enough. Was beautiful and I don't like tablet. Tray of 90 pieces was £ 10
We are buying £1 lottery tickets for the local hospice.
My wedding week before xmas I made personalised baubles tied to my colour scheme! Everyone loved them x
You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Maybe get magnets or mini chalkboards that you can use as place cards
We donated to Alzheimer's and got little badges everyone loved them they were a pound each and put them in a little bag with some chocs and sweetheart sweets
We arent doing them. Just a sweet table with personalised bags to take home 😊
We had silver heart shape compacts for the ladies & miniature playing cards n vegas casino chip for the guys.
We also did fun one for the evening ... black n white rings ( got loads left if anyone wants to buy them )
Not a must xx traditionally 5 sugar almonds for health, wealth, fertility, happiness & long life xx
We didn't do favours as such.. we donated £1 per guest (£150) to the neonatal unit I work in ... which also looked after our son who was 6 weeks premature 2.5years before our wedding xx
I’ve been to a lot of wedding where they haven’t had them and I don’t think people notice, for us my husbands grandad couldn’t come so we had dementia awareness badges for our guests, it was a nice touch that he really appreciated x
I have made ours. Packs of seeds with a poem on and I made some heart magnets. Cost about £15 in total. I may also get some chocolates with our name and date of the wedding done...not sure yet but they will only cost an additional £15.
We are giving everyone a kinder egg
I had love heart sweets with our names and date of wedding on and got a cartoonist to come and draw people and gave them their picture to take away, everyone loved it x
We are having a packet of forget me not seeds from cancer research
Make your own seed pkts or give a scratch card or by the pins for charity or little bottles of alcohol!
We had a bird theme so I made chocolate cornflake nests with mini eggs in. Depends what your theme is. I saw a Harry Potter theme the other day using Ferrero Rocher as the snitch by adding paper wings. I have been to a wedding where we had a scratch card. Then I went to another where we were given badges from different charities and a donations was made which is a nice idea if you have a charity close to heart x
Depending on your theme i sell pocket mirrors, bottle openers or fridge magnets that can be used as favours www.facebook.com/jessharridesign
We aren't doing wedding favours x
I'm getting charity pin badges that you can get on line that also give a card to guests to say a donation has been made on their behalf to the charity.
I’m just getting cupcakes made which are going on the tables for all the guests a friend is making them for me and I have just bought the boxes and thank you labels
Seem as through its valentines soon I've stocked up on packs for love heart sweets £1 for a pack of 11
Going to make a charitable donation to two charities and the charities then provides a card and pin for each of your guests to say a donation has been made in lieu of a favor.
We are doing miniature bottles of booze (probably homemade fruity rum and vodka) in barrel shaped bottles... country/cowboy theme wedding.
Thanks to the original poster for this - I’m struggling for ideas for mine too so I’ve gotten some great ideas 😊
Guests didn’t notice or mind and saved a fortune
Very American tradition and been to weddings where they all got left on the table anyway x
My friend is getting married in Sept (I'm bridesmaid) we have decided to make a few different flavours of homemade fudge. This should cost us no more than £20 for all the ingredients and wrap xxx
We bought some favour pyramids (£25ish for 100) and are going to put some Hotel Chocolat chocolates in them! My future MIL lives near the Hotel Chocolat factory so hopefully we can get some delicious bits and bobs on sale!
We’re doing shots in little bottles with labels so they double up as place names.
I don’t think favours are a must these days, because as others have said so many other things are provided that are essentially favours in some kind of way xx
We are having these
Favours are often overlooked so, even if these are, the money has still gone to a worthwhile cause!
Natalie Ennis. This is a fab idea. Never thought of that x
Have a look on Pinterest. My brother suggested it to me helped me come up with tablet and shortbread which my dad is making.
