Hi, this may be a little long winded, I'm not great and writing things down. I am curious of who people took with them when they went to try wedding dresses on. I lost my Mam a 4 years ago and I know my Aunty (Mam's sister) really wants to come but I know she probably won't like what I like. I also would like my future Mother-in-law to come along. One of my bridesmaids is really keen to come along too so was thinking of inviting all 3 along but wasn't sure if 5 people is too many people. I am also very self conscious and really dislike my figure. Thanks in advance xx

Hi don't take more than 2 people with you :)

I had 5 people with me and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. I had my mum, my mum in law, my nan, my maid of honour and bridesmaid. I valued each and everyone of the them being there.

It's really up to how you think you can deal with possibly differing thoughts. Personally, I couldn't deal with the thought of everyone giving their input so searched on-line, found what I wanted and was thrilled with it when it came and could try it at home. Wouldn't change a thing.

Its up to you...I only took my maid of honor then a week later took my mam and step dad to see what I had chosen x

Taking them separately sound slike a good idea. I've already narrowed down my dresses to a certain style but I'm going to go do the whole dress thing with the family just for the experience. I might decide I like something different anyway. So yeah, don't try to find THE dress with them, just for a fun, memorable experience!

I would recommend (and most bridal shops will also probably also recommend) not bringing more than 2 other people. Too many opinions make things confusing and stressful, you can find something you love but other people may put you off it. I took my mum and my sister which was perfect for me. If you don't want to disappoint any of them perhaps take the two you feel will be most helpful and supportive, then invite the other to your fitting at a later date.

So went to different shops with 2 people twice, I think it’s overwhelming when there’s more than 2 , too many opinions flying around. Xx
