I’m really nervous about bubbling the whole way through my ceremony and ruining my makeup before I get the chance to get our photos done so my photographer has suggested a First Look with my groom before I walk down the aisle. Has anyone else done this and was it a good idea? Thanks x

It’s become a “thing” for a first look now. Looks great in photos! If you’re both happy to do it, why not?

Look into airbase makeup it is waterproof and if done properly looks flawless if you go on the the airbase website you can put in your postcode and find your nearest mua x

I was nervous of this too! I kept thinking about ruining my make up n photos etc n ended up giggling instead of crying the whole time tears kicked in next day looking at people's videos and pictures n I cried like a baby x

I am thinking the same , I might have to get rescue spray to calm myself just like I did when I went for my driving test. What is First Look Guys? X

We did this... was taken before the ceremony but didn't actually see each other so still got those 'first look' photos when I walked down the aisle too x

It totally up to you what you want to do. If you feel comfortable doing a 'first look' then do so. But a good make up artist should have lots of water proof make up for you to where. They will be use to having to put make up on birds that are going to cry happy tears. If you want to do your own make up then any good make up counter will suggest some good water proof make up. Xx

I had this photo taken by a friend of my husband seeing me for the first time. It's my most treasured photograph xx

As nervous as I was I didn’t cry, I just watched my hubby the entire time I was walking down the isle and barely took my eyes off him through the ceremony.

I was totally fine all morning until I saw the wedding car....oh dear I sobbed for the rest of the way there. Then during the ceremony and vows haha I could hardly speak during the vows....surprisingly my make up was fine

I’m known as the most emotional person EVER with our family and friends. I was so anxious about this. My now husband made and recorded the most emotional video with messages from our friends and family and I watched this before my make up was done. Good job because I was a wreck.

I don’t have my mum here and that was the bulk of my anxieties and emotions but I really surprised myself.

If I can do it - you can. You’ll be absolutely fine to not have a first look I’d say xxx

Ahh you don’t know how you will react, I blubbered from the minute my dad opened the door and I saw the neighbours stood outside watching until I’d said my vows, to be truthful my make up was absoloutly fine and the photos were great xx

I worried about this and you actually don't know how you will react on the day. I giggled the whole way through the ceremony and my 6" 5' Husband was a blubbering wreck! Try not to overthink it and go with what you want

I nearly completely sobbed when I got to the end of the aisle. I managed to compose myself and stay composed...mainly because the registrar pronounced my middle name wrong...my husband copied then even after I pronounced it correctly the registrar continued to mispronounce. This had already been a running joke between my husband and I pre wedding lol

Best thing we ever did! I was so terrified I'd spend the whole day crying but I didnt even shed a tear. Hubby did! It definitely took the stress off and you get to share that intimate moment between the two of you instead of everyone in the room - it's my most treasured memory. Xxx

I cried all the way thru and my make up was fine. I cried at the rehursal tbh. You can even see the tears running down my face as I'm saying my vows in the pictures but my make up stayed perfect, just don't rub your eyes xxx
