Other than a 3 course Sunday style meal what alternatives have you as a guest or bride offered and enjoyed?
We are having a knife & fork buffet. We completely ignored the suggestions and asked for meat lasagne, veggie lasagne, salads, baked potatoes, BBQ sausages, seafood platter and a few other things so that it should cover all our guest's dietary limitations. We wanted something basic and not pretentious. The problem with pre-chosen menus is that a lot gets wasted when people have dietary constraints ... otherwise it is a nightmare to sort them out.
You could have a hot food buffet or a BBQ possible a hog roast.
We're having afternoon tea in the afternoon with hot food buffet in the evening :)
We're having afternoon tea, in July. Not going to fancy a hot meal if it's warm out. X
We're having fish and chips with an option for grilled fish and potatoes for those who don't want anything to unhealthy xx
We are having a 3 course meal but almost went for a hot roast as had that before and was amazing! In the evening we are having bacon sarnies etc.
we had street food the chefs cook it in front of you out guests loved it some of which had more than 3 helpings.

We’re having afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast and a bbq in the evening for a July wedding 😀
We are having a bbq, then cold buffet in the evening x
We are having Christmas dinner as we're getting married on 22nd December, personally I love having a buffet selection to choose from at parties but at a wedding I prefer to sit down so I can mingle and talk to the people at the table otherwise there are people always walking around.
My friend had an American style menu with pulled pork, corn on the cob, chicken skewers and mac n cheese! And key lime pie for desert! It was so good!
BBQ Xxx
Our venue offers steak as an option, so we're going for it! :-D
Hog roast is always good. We are having a 3 course sit down meal, but not a roast dinner and our guests get 4 choices for each course. Then we are having a BBQ in the evening.
We're having a BBQ then bacon butties in the evening xx
We're having a pizza van x
We had afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, then a BBQ in the evening :)
Where having a 3 course wedding breakfast but then in the evening where having fish and chip cones rather than a buffet. Been to one where they had a hog roast with crusty rolls in the evening which was gorgeous x
I prefer buffet. I'm a picky eater, so a set meal is usually wasted on me. I'm considering fish and chips or afternoon tea
We had afternoon tea which was served to the tables and everyone loved followed by spit roast beef butties at night, the afternoon tea was really easy to adjust for tables with vegetarians or people with food intolerances too and we provided vegi option alongside the beef at night
For our evening food we had a burger van and a pizza van - went down an absolute treat!!! X
We had fish and chips, as I am from Grimsby it's the local dish..
Hog roast and salads and dessert (both as guest and bride). A Mexican sharing meal on each table...could be done with any type of cuisine xx
BBQ / hog roast, depending on the time of year. Afternoon tea/high tea. Fork hot buffet. Caribbean curry. Slow cookers with chilli, curry etc
We are having leek and potato soup or Thai fish cakes. Then salmon with spinach and new potatoes or chicken with mushrooms and some kinda sauce, or vegetarian lasagne. Then sticky toffee pudding or cheese board.
Evening is hot beef and pork sarnies with chips and salads. X
We’re having a 3 course wedding breakfast then a buffet for the night do which will include finger food like sandwiches, chicken, quiche, mini pizza etc because that’s what most of my guests love and would prefer rather than all that fancy food. And most of my day guests will still be full after the wedding breakfast x
Carvery and pudding table and egg, bacon sausage sandwiches etc in eve x
Ewe has a hog roast but served to table with hot buttered potatoes and greek salad was amazing and wood fired pizza for evening guests xx
We had a hot buffet for ease of wedding guests. But what’s your favourite food? Why not try something different like a tapas type menu or a Chinese/Indian banquet (could be set out lovely on each table). Afternoon tea is a nice one. Or if you’re after a 3 course meal, choose something you would want at a restaurant. So maybe deep fried Brie or garlic mushrooms, pork with sweet potato mash or gammon with egg/pineapple, then cheesecake or sticky toffee pudding. Hog roast? I like the pizza van idea above? A friend of mine had the parents make a buffet.....that was amazing too xx
We are having a hot buffet of stew, lasagna and fish pie for wedding breakfast (winter wedding) then a buffet and hog roast in the evening
We’re having a Chippy supper xx And a Dutch buffet
I had fish and chips!! Everyone loved it and said how amazing it was.... on the evening when the evening guests arrived we had hot pork and stuffing baps xx
We had a set starter then a bbq buffet style meal then a set dessert followed by freshly baked pizza slices and pasties in the evening and wedding cake which was a profiterole tower divided into individual plates for the guests. The bbq had a vegetarian alternative to cover most basis.
We had fish and chips or halloumi and chips and it seemed to go down well x
Our wedding isn't for another 6months yet but we decided to do a double buffet.we are having a hot buffet for the adults with different meats veg potatoes etc and a kids party buffet with mini burgers, sausage rolls etc that way everyone will b happy as we have a few picky eaters coming.we will also be having a vegetarian selection.we felt for us this was the safest way.
BBQ or hog roast we’ve been asking for 😁
Wood fired pizza are an instant hit really reasonable we had all sorts of savoury ones then Nutella which the kids went mad for xx
