Venue stylist or diy? Is anyone else planning on decorating their venue themselves? I don't want anything that looks too much. Luckily my venue has gorgeous tables and suede effect grey suede chairs so I am not dressing them as I hate chair covers anyway. The only benefit of a venue styler I can see is having them go there beforehand so I don't have too. But I honestly don't mind. I have seen so many nice touches I can just add myself and buying them seems to be same price as renting them.

I'm doing a bit of both. For the reception I'm sourcing the table decor etc and leaving it at the venue the day before. They will put it out as per my directions (I will do a mock up at home to photograph). Then on the day I have a trusted friend who will check that everything is as it should be before we enter the room in the evening. If you shop around you will find that for a lot of things it is considerably cheaper to buy than hire and then you can sell it afterwards.

Hi I won my venue stylist in a charity auction, a stylist will take some stress out of it for you :)

Depends on if the venue will put out your DIY bits for you. We were able to leave all our favours, name cards, table plans etc the day before with instructions and they dealt with it. Florists and decor hire sorted flowers and fairy lights. I know some venues would need you to put it up yourself though and if you can't do it the day before then that just won't work really x

We considered it but decided it would be too much for us to do, with everything else. However we get married at 11:30 and don’t yet know if we can have the venue the evening before so it was just going to be too much of a rush!

I’m doing all of my decorations myself. We are having an outdoor wedding and will decorate the day before with all our wedding party and then have a meal.
It’s cheaper to do it yourself than have someone else put their personal touch on things.

see some lovely stuff to buy but to be honest too much stress doing myself and selling on after.... renting seems worth it for me personally
