I need some advice ... I was always a daddy's girl and always thought he would give me away at my wedding. Unfortunately we no longer speak and this won't happen now (longgg story but this isn't something that greatly upsets me now as I have sort of made my piece with it and won't change in the near future). Would it be weird to ask my younger brother to give me away on my wedding day? I've heard of older brothers giving their sister's away but not sure about the other way around? Tia :) x

Sorry to hear about things with your Dad but of course your younger brother can give you away. My son is giving me away.

Definitely not! It doesn't matter whether he's younger, older, or even a female member of your family or friends! It's what you want, remember that!

After the loss of my grandfather my aunt had her son give her away at her wedding. You can have anyone you want give you away

Thanks Ladies :) although there is a bit of an age gap between us, we are really close and I know it would mean the world to him if I asked him X

My H2B to gave away his older sister at her wedding, their dad was in attendance at the wedding but his sister didn’t feel he deserved to give her away. whoever gives you away should be someone you are close to x

I think it’ll be sweet to have your younger brother give you away.
At the end of the day it’s your wedding and do it whatever way you want :)

Hey, I have a similar issue, my stepfather (who I always imagined walking me down the Isle) passed a couple of years ago and I'm not close to my dad, so I'm definitely asking my (half)brother to do the job. He'll only be 16 but has always been there for me, when I needed support :)
