Ours is roughly £2,500, simple registry office wedding & reception in local pub.. Only thing we splurged on is the cars, to get us there..

I think you should spend what ever is best for you love what ever you can afford its not worth getting into debt and its not ideal to try an spend a certain amount based on what others have spent i havnt saved anything towards our wedding yet but got over 2 years and am looking on going with a credit union as av heard they are very useful xxxx

It’s what you want to spend on your day set yourself a budget & try & save each month

work out what you can put away a month and see how much you can save in 12/24 months and see what you can afford in that timeframe.

Check out the hitched website for tips on having a wedding under £2500 or £5000. It's really helpful to set yourself a budget with a list of "necessary" and "not necessary but would be nice to have". I'm considering a wedding buffet and a hiring a hall that doesn't have corkage fees (supermarket drinks for the win!) to cut down on my expenses. I'll also be swapping real flowers for silk ones on countrybasket. You can still have your dream wedding, you just have to be creative. Good luck!

My wedding is all in one place so don't have to pay for transport. It is in a hotel, ceremony and reception and a finger buffet for 140 people. £3500
