I suffer with bad acne and oily skin. I'm forever having bad break outs. I have over a year to go so plenty of time to try a new skin routine. What regime/skin products do people have?

I think it is important to keep a healthy diet with lots of veg and salads. Then go to come cosmetic counters in John Lewis or boots and ask for advice, preferable not on a really busy day so that they have time to spend on advising you. When you find one you like make sure you stick to the routine even if you initially break out as this is usual and is the impurities coming out.

So if you wanna try something that can drastically change things for you then try giving up dairy. If you can commit to a month of it, but the end you will know whether or not it works but usually with us greasy acne sufferers it completely reduces the breakouts if not stop them.
I'd wait until after Xmas though if you love your cheese and pate!

I live a dairy free life purely because of how badly it affects my skin.
X

As strange as it sounds. Olive oil is the best thing I have found. I wash my face in it and it keeps my spots at bay! It removes the impurities and even moisturises! And doesn’t make my skin greasy as you’d expect! Works for me! Always worth a try x

I had terrible acne my entire life. The one thing that made a huge difference is Clinique anti blemish solutions range. I don't get on with the moisturiser, but use the foaming wash with the sonic brush, the clarifying lotion, and the clearing gel. I was never without at least ten nasty cystic acne on my face. It's currently clear! Although I often have one or two spots.

I don’t have acne but I have suffered with quite bad hormonal breakouts. I started using Clinique anti blemish serum on the affected area twice a day and it’s transformed my skin. I may get the odd minor spot and I use the anti blemish gel for this to top up the serum.
I developed a routine using Estée Lauder face wash, and day cream, Clinique face scrub and anti blemish serum.
Obviously different things work for different people but I’d heard really good things about Clinique and it worked for me xx

I went dairy free (really hard to start off with) and are acne free after 6 years of suffering. This was a year ago, (took 3minths to really see it was working) I’ve just started introducing a little diary once a week (cheese ... I miss cheese!) and Thus seems to work for me. Also epiduo cream from doctors really helps clear skin up. X

Clinique 3 step all the way, it magically cleared my acne up after years of trips to the doctors! Better than Benzal stuff that’s supposed to kill then and never worked for me!

I'd also suggest looking at your contraception if you use it. Acne is caused by hormones and some contraception can exacerbate it. I was moved on to Yasmin (dianette has not been licensed as a contraceptive for a while).

Skin care wise I always find moisturised skin will be less aggressive, even when oily.

I've also started making my own face masks and the results are ridiculous. My skin is already clearing up after a week of use. Ok admittedly I put in too much bentonite clay (which causes temp redness in the skin).

I used:
white kaolin clay
Pink clay
Bentonite clay
Rose water
Cold pressed avocado oil
Cold pressed argan oil
Ground chamomile
Ground licorice
Ground kelp
Ground pomegranate seeds
Aloe Vera
Coriander essential oil
Rosemary essential oil
Preservative
Emulsifying wax

Basically this recipe is designed to soothe your skin while drawing all the impurities out. I can honestly say my most recent flare up is going down and my pores are better cleansed!

Liz Earle cleanse and polish, use it morning and night for a month and my guess would be that it would clear up.

I went to a skin and beauty place and have been having micro-needling. Yes sounds painful but the results are absolutely amazing. I used to have acne scars and tried every cream under the sun but this reproduces your collagen and the compliments about how glowing my skin is has made it all worth while. I would recommend this to any bride to be. x

I work with acne clients all the time and it's not an easy answer... acne is very specific to the individual and needs treating in a specific way. I would say get yourself booked in somewhere for a specific acne consultation. You should get advice on products specific for your skin (What to use and when to use them), what treatments would benefit you etc and whether medication would benefit. Hope that helps

I'm the same as you, I've been just introduced to tropic skincare, and I have to say it has worked miracles for me! It's all chemical free, natural and vegan, so your putting any nasty chemicals and oils on your skin that's absorbed into your system. They have a huge range of things that can help from a daily cleansing process to healing balms to bubble baths. I'm happy to answer any questions about it as I loved it so much and truly believe in it I became an ambassador.
I use the daily cleansing everyday without fail and like you I have a year till my wedding, right now I'm no longer worried about my skin!

I went to the drs and was prescribed tablets that made a huge difference and cleared my skin in days. I did this three months before my wedding and I still take them now. Makes me feel a lot more confident as I’m not a makeup person.

I have very oily skin and started using the Liz Earle range about a year before our wedding and was amazed by how clear my skin was on the day. It resulted in me wearing less make up on the day, which was fantastic. I love their cleanse and polish, I use it every night without fail. There light moisturizer is also a great base for make up too. I also always use a primer.

Everyone is different but for me it’s always inside and out first, sort your hormones with gp, drink more water than you think, get enough sleep and don’t use anything harsh on your skin. I’m super sensitive and had moderate to bad acne in my teens and early twenties~the kind that starts like big balls under your skin and hurt. The shiz I’ve used on my skin that helped or didn’t make it worse was Mario badescu buffering lotion, I used the acne wash and the seaweed night cream too. Use the classic kheils moisturiser in the day. Other stuff that worked well for me was skinoren or anything with Azelaic acid in it and good old cetaphil for oily skin. I tried going natural and organic but it made my skin worse. My skin behaves now a days, although maybe I just swapped zits for wrinkles🤷‍️ everyone’s different tho, figure out your acne triggers and go from there.
