I didn’t budget as such I just went with the quotes that I found the most reasonable, totted it all up and figured out how much we need to save a month xx

Yup but well worth it. Did a lot of diy things to save money and splurged on what we thought would be important. And I can honestly say sometimes you do get what you pay for things like our cake, photography, wedding breakfast, turned out fantastic and I'm so glad we decided to spend what we wanted on these even if it did mean going over budget and saving extra hard the year before

Oh yes! But I think when you first set a budget it's hard to be realistic because you have no idea what things cost. Turns out that if you have particular requirements which are a bit out of the ordinary then it starts getting expensive. But hey ho, we've learned to live with that and as we've waited 10 years to get engaged and it'll be 12 years by the time we get married we figure we're only doing this once, we've saved really bloody hard so as not to have to borrow any money (OK we will put the open bar on the credit card) so we don't really care that we've increased our budget..... By 4 times what we originally planned nope not kidding!

I still never get how anyone spends over £8,000 at the very maximum on a wedding! I wouldn't be able to waste that amount of money, even if I had it. We are doing our perfect day at around £2500 max! That's a barn wedding, country theme, wild flowers, handmade invites, food (hog roast and afternoon tea) and entertainment. Each to their own and I'm sure the weddings are fabulous, but I just couldn't and wouldn't do it, to me i'd worry people would think I'm just trying to show off and have the best wedding day visually rather than celebrate the man I want to be with.

It’s worth every penny I promise. You won’t dont again so what does it matter. We went over by a LOT but had the most amazing day. It goes fast though so make sure you take a break every hour and take it in. Xxx

I’ve not set a budget... no point when I know Im gonna break it anyway! I’m just deciding as I go along what I think is a good price as I buy/book

Gone way over the original budget idea, now decided I'm just going to tot it all up at the end and cry then lol. All giggles aside I have no idea how anyone manages to get so much for such great prices, I'm assuming it's possibly partly a location thing, I've cut costs on so much thanks to friends and their talents (cake, photos etc), and still gone about £12k over what I wanted to (although I am so much happier with the plans now than I might have been before these decisions were agreed!) How anyone does this more than once though is beyond me on cost alone lol!

Absolutely think it's Impossible not to because everything to do with weddings seems to be soo expensive so when you've never done it before its hard to set a budget. Think I'm about 5 grand over what I wanted to be at then honeymoon on top never do it again tho

Budget max 20,000 unsure unsure if will include honey moon. Doubtful
Venue package £11,500 I never wanted a big wedding a thought it was madness spending all that . But we have been together 7 years and getting married at 10 years and I think bugger I've waited long enough. Now to bloody show off ha ha .
Don't want kids and we earned the money so up to us what we spend it on .
