I am getting married in France in August 2018 and I can’t find any wedding favours which I like... we’ll have 150 guests at the dinner and would like something different from the usual and traditional French “dragees” (chocolate coated almonds) in a paper box. I am happy to have different ones for the men and the women and would like to stick to a reasonable price...we also don’t want them to have any name as we want the guests to sit where they want on each table. What did you do for your wedding? Thanks ????
Scratch cards but put a fake winning one in for someone you don't like. Then when the night is over and he / she has been buying drinks for everyone and picking what yacht they are buying, get the DJ to announce the wind up. Just as you are sailing off in a taxi to the airport for your honeymoon.
I got charity pins for everyone, and have put them in little bags along with some chocolates and other little things. I thought making a donation would at least benefit someone rather than something most guests will just throw away or leave behind. X
We got organza bags and filled them with Haribos - this was a nod to the fact my hubby proposed by putting my ring in a fun size bag of Haribos. Think of something that is a connection to the 2 of you xx
Cut down your costs buy a nice gift e.g. chocolates champagne make it into gift hamper.. put a raffle ticket in a wee box with a couple of chocs and draw winner just before you are about to leave...
Personalised love hates, put in organza bags to go with my colour scheme. They said
Our names and wedding date. With thank you for sharing our special day. We got them off eBay and definitely wasn't very expensive at all. X
We done shots for everyone as well as tablet and personilised love heart sweets
Personally I don’t like the different ones for men and women because one might prefer one of the other gifts.... I’m doing a table of things for people to choose from. Hot choc, spices and ice tea so far.
Our theme is daffodils so we have daffodil bulbs for everyone in yellow organza bags, as well as one tealight holder per couple. Kids have a clear bag of yellow sweets and we have huge martini glasses with sweets in the middle of each table.
Try personalised sweets/rock, u can have your wedding date on them or Mr and Mrs. That way there is no worry of any damages when travelling x
We have small candles and we have put a wooden heart around them saying thank you for sharing our special day x
We made raspberry vodka and put in bottles with a little message but no names x
We are getting little glass bottles and filling them with wild flower seed with a note saying 'let the love grow' is working out really well for cost x
Were having clear bags of popcorn with a sticker on the front that says 'because he POPPED the question' x
Mens aftershave tie clip humbugs and a heart with our details on
I made my own bomboniere with Jelly Belly beans, all peach, baby blue and cream to match my colour scheme. I just wrote our surname on the card and the date of the wedding.
where exactly are u getting married a beach a castle?
We did £1 scratch cards x
We made hangover kits for everyone x
What about macaroons if you are having it in France? Or another little cake type desert? Suspect you could source something amazing out there.
I had silk hand fans for the ladies and charity pins for.ghe men. My guests loved them.
Where in France? Lavender theme for Provence, France ? Or macaroons?
Macaroons or French fancies??
Charity favours are a nice touch and can link your day to someone who isn't with you anymore.
I done tags and each tag had said thank you for sharing our first meal as Mr and Mrs and our surname and the date of the wedding i can post a pic
I am doing wine glass charms with the date of the wedding. We are having special ones made for the wedding party.
Wedding biscuits
Our wedding package works out that we're spending nearly £90 per guest.... that's enough! Wedding favours are an American import and often people leave them anyway.
Do the seating chart. It'll be chaos otherwise, especially with 150 guests. As for favours, could you just give out your wedding cake?Or you could do macaroons or Eiffel tower biscuits and mini bottles of French liqueur like Cointreau
Wild flower seeds is a nice touch that's what I'm having x
My sister has a small business that creates favours. They are little boxes with a choice of fillings such as fudge, bath bombs, and other little goodies.
We made lemonchello liquor in small bottles, worked really well. The ingredients were about £30 and the glass bottles £35 for 80 so quite cheap too. We then had mini labels made which said thank you, our initials and the date. If you zoom in you can see them on the table
Engraved wine glasses for women and pint glasses for men
I had an Easter wedding so everyone got a small bag of mini eggs tied up in a fancy bag. My guests loved them. Just pick something real easy that is linked to your theme. Guests are not that bothered about that part of the wedding.
We had charity pins, shots, and key rings x
