Wedding Make Up - any suggestions for good, all day products? I'm going to ask for some for a Christmas gift from family but don't know where to start. Thought about going to a department store but you still have to pick a brand to try. My skin type is combination.

Go and speak with a makeup consultant at a store similar to boots. Usually they will offer a free trial (almost like having your makeup done but for free) and at least that gives you the chance to see if you like the makeup that they use. They’ll be able to advise you on what’s best for your skin tone etc. Hope you get something sorted. Paying for a makeup artist for my bridesmaids is going to be a pain, so i might go down this route. MAC is excellent but not many stores around. I had mine done as I passed through the airport at about 11am and at 11pm that evening it was still perfect. Failing that, I have found with normal make up the Urban Decay make up spray (about £22 from Debenhams) holds it really well.

I usually use Estee Lauder Double Wear but on my day my MUA used the light version as the regular version causes flashback! X

Double wear I love it soooo much and if you don’t normally wear makeup they do a light one too but still has the long lasting coverage x

I've started using bare minerals Pro wear liquid foundation as I had the same issue with make up not staying on and I absolutely swear by it. It's £29 but if you buy it and the brush I promise you will love it!

I would highly recommend boots No7 make up. I had free trial with them and they showed me how to do my make up for the day. There make up lasted all day, and they are very reasonably priced. X

If you can find maybe a college student or someone training, then airbrush is fab. It doesn't transfer onto clothes etc, it's water/sweat resistant and stays all day. It also reacts with a photographers flash so you look flawless

Be careful with foundation, avoid ones with spf (I know I know it’s good for your skin.....) however in photos foundations with spf show up white (you know how some girls look really pale on photos even when they look quite tanned in real life!)

I’ve been using No7 lift and luminate, I was scared at first as it’s quite thick but actually on your face it feels like you don’t have anything on and it lasts ages.
If you use a HD loose powder on your undereyes it stops flashbacks and creasing and I’ve just ordered the Tarte shape tape as it was recommended for a great under eye highlight to stop dark circles. :)

MAC gets my vote! It was originally stage make up and is still used on the stage today as it gives amazing coverage and lasts. Lots of department stores sell it, as well as their own stores. They are super helpful and give you a styling sheet and make up lessons for tips on the difficult bits (liquid eye liner in my case). You can use the sheet to style yourself on day or give to your make up artist to follow! Xxx

Estee Lauder double wear for your foundation. It lasts all day. Also have a look at Urban Decay all nighter setting spray - this holds your make up in place for the day x
