I am contemplating whether to have a selfie mirror (the modern style photo booth) for the reception to capture some extra fun photos but as we are paying for the wedding ourselves we are trying to keep costs down so I am wondering whether anyone has had this and whether they think it is worth the money or just a waste of time?

I went to a wedding fayre a few months ago and they look brilliant. I am having a photo booth but this is all tied up in the photography package but would prefer the mirror. Go for it! X

Ive been to a couple of wedding with them and I am definitely having one. They are fun for guests and some of the pictures you get are great- lots do a guestbook with it so they get to take home a picture and you get to keep one in a book with a little message from everyone. So I would definitely say they are worth it

I went to a wedding which had a photo booth and although we all genuinely loved it and had a great time, people spent a lot of time queuing and in the photo booth and so the atmosphere in the main reception area was quite quiet and the dancefloor never really got going. So I think it depends what you envision your reception to be like, and also the layout of the venue and where you can put the booth. I think if you do go for one, the mirror type is great as other guests can still watch and join in the fun even if they aren't the ones in the booth :)

To be honest I don't see what the attraction of a photo booth or selfie mirror is.

Why dont you see if your photographer will be able to do something for you? My photographer is bringing a backdrop and has her own props and whilst the evening is starting she will be doing this but it will only be for 1 hour before everyone is dancing. X

Why don’t you buy a mirror from a charity shop and buy an Instax camera (they sell them at Argos or Amazon) or see if a friend has a camera :)

I'm having one at my wedding it's not till September 2019 we already have it booked but I entered a competition on Facebook and got a deal on it it's usually £500, and we got it for £250 for 3 hrs , I think they are brilliant really worth the money and people are constantly using it

They are fab. I'm thinking of doing my own selfie corner for guests and getting diy props and selfie sticks. My venue doesn't allow any other company's booth but there own yet there own is way more expensive so i couldn't justify it xx

We were going to do our own but saw a great one at a wedding fair and it's 4 hours unlimited photos one set of which gets put in an album which the guest also signs their photo. There's someone looking after it too so we decided to get the magic mirror.

I own an events company. The selfie mirror and booth is great fun but what you want/need to make it fun is the guestbook package. The guests receive a photo and one gets glued in the book with a comment. I attend the booth/mirror to ensure guests have the most fun but mostly to ensure guests leave messages. It's a fantastic keepsake for you especially as the night goes in the messages are great and you have those memories from guests of your evening which you wouldn't have had without it.

We had a photobooth and it went down a treat with the guests. The dance floor was equally as full and we booked a marryoke video service with our booth and it was definitely worth the money.it wouldn't have been the same if we done the marryoke video with one of those selfie mirrors as it was better in the booth.x

We're having a selfie mirror, were quoted £350 for 4 hrs, which includes props, copy of the photos for the guests and a copy for the guest book, and all the photos on a USB.
We're having it for the evening as our photographer will be finishing after the speeches etc so nice bit of fun for the night.
Definitely shop around though as prices vary, we've had quotes as much as £500 for the same length of time. Xxxx

I got £100 off the price of hire by telling them I love it but it's a little out of my budget. I still get 3 hours of use and a copy of all the pictures in an album as well as use of props bargain!

If you don't ask you don't get

We are thinking of setting up our own booth with a tablet and getting an instant Bluetooth printer. Much cheaper than a company.
