Not at all. Dresses can be so expensive. Especially knowing you will wear it only once makes it seem even more. Shop around but just be careful if websites that are questionable.

I really don’t want to pay loads on a dress I will only be wearing once. I want the perfect dress but I plan on looking when they are in the sale i saw one i fell in love with yesterday at half the price! X

I’m in the same situation! £600-700 seems ridiculous for a dress you will only wear once. Try looking at sample sales or charity shops as I’ve seen gorgeous dresses donated that still have the tags on or still look brand new xx

I saw my dress online for £2500! I was in love with it and couldn't imagine not wearing it on my big day... anyway I was super lucky and found it brand new in a vintage market in london. The gent sold it me for £120! (Don't think he realised the online price for it) moral of this story. Shop around. Keep your eyes open and of course it's not stupid wanting the perfect dress for less money good luck x

I felt exactly the same and was determined to keep the cost low but then when it came to it, I tried on a dress and everyone agreed it was the one, but it was 3 times my budget. My Mum and Dad ended up paying for it, but it has taken me a few weeks to feel comfortable about it.

My dress was only £48 at Lindy Bop. I added my own ribbon to the dress and then got my cake designer to incorporate the lace onto the dress. I loved it just as much as a dress that could've cost me a few grand.

I’m now currently trying to sell mine and they only sell once worn dry cleaned in perfect condition at 50% of cost so it is a huge amount of money for a few hours. I absolutely loved my gown but maybe I could have been a bit more sensible and found the one then searched the once worn sites 🙄

Got mine and my hoop for £207 at a closing down sale. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect dress. My mum keeps telling me off for telling people how much it cost but I'm really proud that it was such a bargain!

Totally acceptable! Especially if you've had to save for your wedding and watched the price zoom up every year (venues by at least a thousand a year - for what?!) If you want to stay on budget you have to find ways of pinching pennies imo. My local bridal shop is shutting down, my dress should have been £1200 but I paid £350!

Try David's bridal or wed2b. Good luck! X

I’m in the same boat, my wedding is next Sept.15,2018, we’ve booked almost everything but haven’t got a dress yet. Same as everybody, I only want to spend £500 on my dress, my problem is I’m below 5 foot in height , I’ve tried the dress that I really liked in WED2BE , but it’s just drown me, even if it’s altered it’ll loose all the beauty in a dress. I am in the hunt for the perfect dress that’ll suit my height. Good luck . Xx
