Hi everyone I’m just after a bit of an idea as to how much flowers cost....

Hi everyone I’m just after a bit of an idea as to how much flowers cost. I’m just starting to make enquiries and have come across one supplier who is very experienced in supplying my venue. They say their minimum order is £750. I haven’t been given a quote yet, just in the early stages of looking. I’m guessing that flowers probably cost quite a bit? and it will of course vary depending on how many and type etc but I was just wondering what other people have paid. The barn where we will be married in has a fireplace that will be decorated with a large floral display, and id like flowers tied to the pews of the end chairs. Then there’ll be mine and 5 bridesmaids bouquets, buttonholes for 4 men, and id like flowers as part of my table centrepieces too. Just telling you this to try and get prices from people having a similar amount of flowers :) also if I’ve missed anything else where I’d need flowers please let me know haha! thanks! X

It really depends on the flowers you are looking to have. To keep costs down chose flowers that are in season at the time of your wedding. Mine are costing a total of £1,200 and that includes my bouquet, 3 bridemaid bouquets, 5 buttonholes, 2 corsages for the mothers, 8 aisle bunches, 1 pedestal arrangements and 11 table centerpieces. Except for my bouquet which is mostly roses, my main flower is gypsophila (baby's breath) which is normally used as a filler so they are cheaper but I need a lot of it for the look i'm going for, but my wedding is in the winter and I like the winter feel they bring.

Flowers shocked me at how expensive they were.

My cheapest quote was about £1300 (not including any church flowers as ours provides them and my grandmother is going to make pew end flowers)

Bridal bouquet ranged between £70-£90
Bridesmaids £50
Buttonholes £3.95- £5.00
and the centrepeices were coming out between £75-95 but I wanted big ones
Ive since scrapped the centrepieces and found an amazing company that do silk centrepieces with all the flowers I wanted so this might be worth looking at as it has saved me a fortune and they look so good.

I was shocked at just how much is charged for wedding flowers. We have decided to use good quality silk flowers and do our own centrepieces but have real flowers in our bouquets. We will have royal icing flowers on the cake. (I may be being optimistic but I also intend to make sure the centrepieces are sprayed with some floral perfume prior to putting out so that if people don't look too carefully they will think they are real)

We haven’t been quoted yet but have you considered artificial flowers? It’s a cheaper alternative :)

We are due to meet our florist in January, lucky for us our table centres are included in the price of the venue so we just need 3 Bocquets, 6 button holes and 2 crosarges. We getting married the same week as monthers day so I’m expecting it to be expensive

We paid £580 for all my flowers in total (originally had a budget of £200 for real flowers and was quickly proven wrong). We're in Yorkshire.

That includes my bouquet, groom button hole, two groomsmen button holes, 5 floral and greenery centerpieces, a garland that runs the whole length of the top table, flowers for the top of the cake and a tiny little floral garland for around the table plan. The cake flowers were £40, the table plan flowers were £30 and the top table garland was about £100 (just in case you wanna use those as estimate numbers to knock off and add bits on) :). xx

Have a look at groovy Ruby, they do artificial flowers at a very reasonable price. All of my flowers (granted not as many as you're planning for) came to just over £200. My bouquet was around £50 if I remember correctly

My flowers are around £200, that’s for my bouquet, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 3 floral headbands for the flower girls, 6 buttonholes, 17 small table centre piece flowers and a big table arrangement. Not sure if it’s that cheap because my florist knows my family or it would have worked out like that anyway. My flowers are mix of roses and baby’s breathe so they’re not really expensive flowers to have x
