I know this is personal but what are you ladies setting your budget at? I am trying to get a rough idea of what I need to save. Thanks in advance.
There is definitely no one size fits all for this. If you read the Daily Mail it will tell you that the average UK wedding is now £28,000 to £30,000. There is no need for anything like that and some people can manage it for less than £1000. Really you need to look at what you want and then do some pricing and pull back on what you can't afford. Only you can tell what you can save.
Hi every budget is different it depends on what you can afford :)
Including honeymoon, ours is £12,000.
You need to look at what you want and work around that. We have budgeted £12,000 but, not hoping to go over. We are having 50 ppl day time and 100 night. It's your food what costs the most if you are having a 3 course wedding breakfast
We decided when we wanted to get married then decided how much we can realistically save each month until then and that was our budget.
Minus honey moon around 10k but that's just the easily manageable amount, circumstances may get better or worse but we've got back up plans for that
Preferable closer to £1500 but can go to £2000 at the most for us
We were £12,000 without honeymoon got a belated honeymoon 2 years later xx
We worked out we could save around £5k in 12 months comfortably so that's what we set our budget for, in the end including honeymoon we paid around £8.5k but we had around £3k given by relatives which helped massively x
Around 6000
Ours is 10k but think it maybe 1 or 2 more
Ours is £15,000 without our honeymoon x
We have estimated put wedding will be around £12,000 (without honeymoon) that's for a while day with wedding breakfast and evening do x
We set ours at 10.5k we worked out a budget for each aspect and went from there. So far everything is under budget so we are looking at 7k now (my mum bought my dress, shoes and accessories and his mum is buying our cake) x
We chose the venue we wanted and everything else we wanted - added it up and then divided it by the months to the wedding: then looked at if we could afford it.
I guess its backwards but its what we want :)
We didn't have a budget.. We just didn't go crazy. Looked for deals where we could, and I bought a lot of decorations etc online.. x
We worked out what we could comfortably put aside each month, up to 3 months before the wedding and went from there. X
Looking about 10k
£12,000 but our venue alone was £4100 without food 😳
Ours is about 12k xx
It depends what you want. We didn't really have a set budget, but probably came in around the 15k Mark. I didn't want to compromise with things I wanted, also didn't want a cheap tacky looking wedding. But everyone is different, as long as you don't get in debt over it then it doesn't matter.
Ours is about 12,000 minus honeymoon
We set around the £7,000 mark but actually came in quite a bit under, we did a lot ourselves though, we actually managed to pay for our honeymoon (10 days in Croatia) and still be under the original budget x
About £19k but in fairness my parents are helping a lot because I have a very international family who are using it as a family reunion!
i get married in 2 weeks and so far ive spent around £2000
Mine is around 2000. It's a no frills weekend with bbqs and camping. We are doing what we want and what suits us. I was not prepared to let the day stress me out or panic about money I don't have. The day is for you so be realistic about what you both want and work to that. It's your wedding, your day and your budget. People will want to spend the day with you what ever. Good luck and have a fantastic day xx
Depends on what you want? And guests etc... you could go all out or you could stay low... either way the day will be perfect as you make it your own!! One thing I have noticed is food is expensive so best to try negotiate costs etc... using village halls, conference rooms, church halls etc can help keep costs low...
The day is about you and your h2b so spend as much as you wish xxx
we set ours at 10,000 but we split it 3 ways with both sets of parents x
Ours was around £10k x
Hi we think we will end up on £5k, venues booked and lots of favours from friends x
That's like asking someone how much to spend on a house.. 1 bedroom or a 15 bedroom mansion. It depends on what you want and what you can afford. Write down your 'must haves' then your 'would like to have' then get ideas if how much venues are charging per head then work out what you personally can afford.
Ours is going to be around £15k then honeymoon on top
My budget was £5000 as we had that spare our of what we had saved, 18 months later were at £17000 without honeymoon 🙈 we get married in 6 months, I have about £2000 left to save which is manageable and we have done it on our own no help or finance 😀
We havent set a budget as such, we viewed venues found 2 we loved and then we choose the cheaper of the 2 as we didnt mind which one we had as we loved them both. I am making lots of things myself to save money, my friend is a cake maker so is only charging me for ingredients so thats saved us a packet. We have found deals on a DJ and Photo booth, my friends daughter is a singer so we are possibly having her singing as people are having the drinks before the meal so again saved us there too. All in all probably come about 6.5K but we already had 2K saved and dont get married til Aug 19
To be honest when I get married id be happy with a ceremony and then meal out or party at mind, terms of clothes just a nice royal blue dress! I guess my wedding would only add up to £1,500 that way (saying £500 is the most expensive for the ceremony) x
We are approx £5500 for everything. X
Depends on your wedding.
Mine and h8bbys wedding was £1000. Got dress, shoes, suit, registra and drinks after.
Renewal in 2 years is set at £2500 were having this as our actual wedding day.
We are looking at about 7k. We got this by working out when we want to get married and how much we can realistically save by that point xxx doesn’t include honeymoon or anything
I know it sounds a bit wild but I don’t have a budget. I just keep seeing things I like and buying 🙈 although my parents have contributed massively. I do keep a note of everything I’ve spent so just note down what you need and ask for quotes and it’ll give you an idea. Everyone’s budget will be different just depending on how extravagant or low key they want their day to be.
We haven't set a real budget as we are buying decorations and other things as we go and I'm making a lot of things myself. Food is the most expensive item it can be anywhere from £40 to £100 per person depending on the venue and meal options. Once you have priced up a venue you can work from there on making a budget.
Ours is about 23k including the honeymoon. We never really intended to have an expensive wedding but if we have seen something we really want we have booked it. We took the decision that it is a once in a lifetime thing and we want it to be something that we and our friends and family always remeber. It is a very personal thing and you can spend as little or as mych as you want. Do what you feel is right for you x
3 grand or less
Using bride book has been a massive help, shows your budget and what should be spent on each bit. We have been very lucky as our venue gave us three star prices and has now been refurbished and gone up. £4,000 :-o. So our budget is £10,000 but would of been alot more had we not saved on venue. Xx
Our is costing about 10k without the dress and honeymoon. But my parents have helped some, and are paying for the dress. The venue and wedding breakfast is over 7k xx
I have done all mine for around £12000 and that’s 150 day guests and 250 night guest, band dj food magician, everything x
Budget for what whole thing..? It's a difficult question... depends on wat type of wedding low key small... big extravagant... also different prices depending on area.... mines was about £1000 but that was 93... it's wat u and H2B want. I got a lot of stuff as wedding gifts... someone paid for cars/flowers/photo/cake/music so just food venue dress kilts etc. left for us to pay..
Originally £15,000 but now I've sat down I'm hoping for £10,000
